Wolf is MIA? Hope his golf game or something really positive accounts for his absence.

Still pondering grip "stuff". Would love the "over-size" to be in the width dimension. That flat spot running down the front (12 o'clock) is something I personally would not love giving up. Experiments will occur in time with a reasonable facsimile of the current stick.

Reasy, besides the Super Stroke GT this is the other putter grip I've been seriously thinking about. Quite a few options, I think they have oversized with the flat top AND it's light weight so you won't lose the feel of the clubhead (too much)

http://www.lamkingri...utter-grips.php

TYVM sir!

Will definitely move that grip up high on the list - despite the fact their ad included this pic:

In Judge Reason land they actually have it backward when it comes to the putting grip,- lol

Same here, I like the shaft, grip, and forearms to all match up in a straight line. What I really like about that particular grip are all the markings to help make placing the hands on the club more consistent. The colors are whacky, but I kinda like it LOL

That's an interesting looking grip.

Reminds me a bit of the perfect putting grip, which has images on so you place yours hands in the same place every time.

The rules of golf (traditional not OGA) sort of amaze me as to what is and isn't allowed in terms of grips. Won't prattle on about it but what is deemed OK and what is not - in general that one sort of baffles me. Then again they've never once called me and asked my opinion!

Good evening Gentlemen,

I have to say, in all seriousness, it is quite nice when one's absence is noticed (I hope that doesn't make me shallow). Either way I think it says a lot about what a great bunch, close-knit bunch we have hear, and I'm very happy to be a part of it. It reminds me of the time I left a party after about half an hour (it was sh!te) and my girlfriend at the time didn't notice. She only twigged the next day when she stumbled home and I was already up, fresh as a daisy, making a greasy fry-up.

Anyway, that aside, unfortunately I have been rather tucked up with work and other family commitments so my WRXTime has been limited. I wish I could say it's because I've been on the golf course, but sadly not. I play so little at the moment, I'm not sure I can even really call myself a golfer anymore! Then again, I shouldn't complain, given Hammy's current plight (stay strong my friend!).

I don't have a whole lot else to report. A note for MC though - "splendidly" is an excellent Anglicism and it's use of often a sign of a good education at a reputable private school, such as Eton or Harrow.

Wolf, I simply love your Brit colloquialisms. Keep em coming :>)

Now go out and play dammit!

So first round with the odyssey black series #9 in the bag and a new super stroke 2.0 on it... 8 1 putts, 1 3 putt. 29 total putts. Led me to a 74. Course is 6500 yards with a rating of 71.6 (par 71) and slope of 135.

Oh and I didn't roll a single practice putt. Trunk to tee box.

Guess it is hanging in the bag for a bit longer. Didn't miss a putt over 6 feet the whole round.

Nice round SB. I wish I could play without missing a putt OVER 6 feet. :D

I see you croquet style'n TTB.

Biff (left) controls his head with a stick following a croquet fight at the 2012 world cup. He is seen signaling his playing partner's (Ronald) choice of the 4-mallet for this shot.

Biff and Ronald are credited with being the first to fashion wickets from under-wire, known for losing their shape after 18 hours, That break through in wicket technology revolutionized the game and brought new meaning to the term "croquet widow".

Following the game both gents were seen in the Grille tossing back a libation. Two-fisted drinker Biff relies on Ronald to operate his head stick, which makes for cracking-good fun when it's time for a spit take.

Demented Judge. Glad I didn't have any beer in my mouth reading this.

I'm here for ya man! We had an up and coming comic scheduled at the Grille and he bailed out on us at the last minute. Something about a tragic Mani Pedi incident and an orbital sander. :swoon:

Good to see you Wolf! Glad all is well, golf will be there LOL and I will indeed stay strong, thank you Friend!

TOOL!

Thanks for the kind words Hammer. It's good to be back!

Ya, life happens. We all know it well. Just convince yourself the break will

bring a reboot that clears the faults. Sometimes I play better after a long

spell of not playing........not always but sometimes.................

And ya, welcome back!

Bloody cuticles are not fun. This is probably the first time that the word cuticle has been used on WRX.

Thanks Rad. I agree sometimes a lay off is not a bad thing. Helps to simplify things in some ways. For me it means I go in with more realistic expectations for my round as well which never hurts.

Very well played SilverB. I consider it a good day if I have less than 30 putts (although the stat can be misleading if you miss a bunch of greens). It's seems like it's been a while since I've made a putt over 6 feet ; )

Hambone - the GT Pistol is a little like the Flatso away from the butt. It has that pentagon shape, although softer than the Flatso. Then as it gets towards the butt end it melds into their interpretation of the pistol.

It's on that Byron Morgan DH-89 I bought over the winter and it's what I play with most days. Since I bought that BB-1 I've taken it out a couple of times just to make sure it works as a back-up, but the Byron is a bit shorter and fits me a little better. All three, the DH-89, BB-1, and Newport are pretty dang similar head shape, no sight aids, although the Newport is 20 or 30 grams lighter and the BB-1 is probably a few grams heavier than the DH-89. I've been thinking about selling the Newport considering I have the other two in Stainless I rarely want to deal with the carbon steel. She looks real good at the moment, after I torched the topline to a very dull black it's an appealing look over the ball.

The Counter weight is interesting. It makes the putter feel more like a lighter stick when you're handling it, but it strokes like a heavy. It's almost like it's built for the timid. It's easy to get carried away and run things by the hole, but when you're dialed-in with it I think you're more likely to actually get the ball to the hole. Drives me crazy to leave it in the gut a rotation or two short.

I'm a counterweight fan. The key for me is to have a head weight over 365 grams and a shaft length under 34".

Thx PD. They have non-conforming grooves but are otherwise the same as their current Tournament Blades. These are the Retro TBs. I love the retro stamping and these will be my official Outlaw Golf Association clubs. To be played at all OGA outings. I will put the Rifle 5.0s currently on my mp60s in them. Plus they will be my off season irons.

Never had a pedicure. First massage 2 months ago. It was a gift.

Pedicure? Hmmm.....

Might have to put that on my to do list.

Edit: are you guys trying to make civilized and sophisticated? Heck, I used the word splendidly the other day.....in a sentence, no less.

Never mind a massage, get out and do some gardening. We have 3/4 acre that requires constant attention, digging holes, weeding and all the associated clean up will keep the muscles fit and loose.

Manicure and pedicure may be required after, depends how much dirt gets in the nails.

Talking about labour, made the bread this morning, nothing is as good as home made. As with the thread tittle I am now sitting down, late afternoon, contemplating a boozy evening.

Hmmm.....putter grips. Not a ho here. I have 2 Odyssey putters that have the stock

grip still on them. They look like a Winn grip to me. Not small and not big but with

a flat front which I like; helps me square the face at impact.....and goes with my flat

front shorts.

Made me chuckle!! Read/overheard a conversation awhile back about pleated v. flat front shorts. It was said that pleated's were "old man's" shorts. IDK. Immediately went to the closet and "deep sixed" the entire shorts supply. Announced to the Mrs. that we had to go shopping (she has all the coupons) for shorts as I have none to wear.

Same thing happened with athletic shoes. Use to always wear white NB trainers. Pair after pair. Until I overheard a convo by a couple of youngsters while perusing the shoe rack a few years back. One said that white and NB were old man's shoes. That was that, never again will white athlete shoes adorn my feets. They were right though, they seem to be the shoe of choice for.......old men. I notice these things now days.

One week shy of reaching official Medicare age. Hard to wrap my head around that. I refuse to give one inch to this getting old crap, that's for old people. Maybe hit two large buckets today, just because.

Good move, Fella. My pleated shorts were gone years ago along with the denim shorts. Lol. Yes, at one time they were in style...maybe not on the course...well, at some of the goat tracks I played about anything was en vogue.

Fella, that is one funny story, Full disclosure: I hate pleated shorts / trousers / pants so naturally I commend you on your ruthlessness in getting rid of yours. I associate pleated pants with early 90's golf. Really baggy pleated pants, with lots of khaki and pastel tones. Yuck! I also recall TW wearing them long after they went out of fashion and pretty much until he met Elin. It was pretty clear she had a word with him to sort his wardrobe out and soon after his attire started to improve.

What's wrong with khaki? Got lots of khaki. Just picked up some new shorts, a mint green and marine blue. Pastels? They're passe? I've never been a slave to fashion, but I'm running out of options here.

I detest wearing long pants on the course, they restrict my follow-thru. And I slog around on public courses, sometimes even a goat track, so pretty much anything goes. Cargos and t-shirts along with a pair of sandals when its really hot out. OGA style.

Yahbut, how'd that TW v. Elin thing work out? His "style" improved and he started hanging at the Waffle House. Then got his a** creased with a 2i.

And while we're on the topic of fashion. Kangols. Been wearing them for awhile now (before Dechambeau made it a thing). Hipster or an old man's fedora? Been accused of it being the latter. Change of pace from always wearing the sweat stained ball cap that sez "Dick's Pour House".

Wow, submitted for your approval (Twilight Zone style)... my baggy black almost pleated, (sort of baggy), almost khaki if they were a different color, shorts at the company golf outing... (otherwise I have to golf naked) :)

I don't understand why they call this a 'blade' putter (along with all the Anser-style putters), when there is ample perimeter weighting. The W/S 8802 style and the Acushnet bullseye are the only real blade putters I know of.

Well, we don't use "woods" either...

I'm guessing that calling them all 'KarstenSolheimDesigned' putters wasn't real popular outside of Ping HQ, so they settled on 'blade'. It annoys croquet purists when we call larger headed putters 'mallets'.

LOL, there are "purists" in everything these days. Often they are also

collectors of the "pure" things. I can't even imagine.......something no

one would think of.....there are "purists" out there.

Being a "purist" and collector (accumulator?) of Bullseye's and Pings when I can find them on the cheap, thrifted these yesterday. Just because. Couple of Bullseye's. A La Femme (for the Biff'ster), a ladies putter that's supposed to be a nice roller. The head was in pretty bad shape, so it got an overnight soak to remove the crud (and the patina). Also a fairly common variety STD 5 A no sight line one. Both are "Designed By" with original grips and the "Bulls Eye" end medallion. Shafts spruced up very nicely with a steel wool scrub. Also a plain ol' garden variety Ping Anser 85029. The stamping in the back cavity just says "Karsten". Something different than I typically see. Been researching this tidbit to find out more info. Sum total of $8.71 out the door. FWIW.

Very dapper SSP. You prove to be a sartorial inspiration for my apparel section today. Basic black. Neat, no pleats. Let me check that......yeah, no pleats.

Jeez Louise, this discussion is drifting towards what I read glance at in the Golf Style forum. We need to return to discussing more important Grille topics like food and booze. And swing things.

How'd you hit'em? Win any cash?

No cash, just smash... I'll have some fairway fries, and a roast beef dip with horseradish sauce and herb au jus.. + dill pickle please, oh and Vernor's Ginger Ale...

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
