Yep.  I go to a lot of auctions.  I try to keep it to farm auctions , or vehicles etc.  but occasionally is an estate sale.  Involving the house.  I’m a sentimental person.  And it bothers me greatly that folks invade a home , and basically rip it apart. The one last week saw me taking the refrigerator apart and cutting off water to get the icemaker line off etc. my father in law bought it for his carport frozen pie stash 🤦‍♂️.    As I’m down on my hand and knees getting the copper line off, I had the thought “ somebody fed folks out of this fridge.  Somebody called this home.  “.  Later I walked through the back porch and saw two profile drawings of children.  I assume kids raised there. Or relatives. I wondered if the family hadn’t cared about them or if they’d gather  them later ?

it just seems sad that life is reduced so quickly to nothing.  Sale of vultures picking at the carcass … myself feeling like one ( although guns of her long gone husband were all I bought ) it makes me understand folks who sell things before they die.  And then disperse cash before they die.  Much more fitting way , in my opinion.

“it just seems sad that life is reduced so quickly to nothing.”

Its our short time here that make it so precious.

Keep that joie de vivre goin blade! 🍻

I knew there was a few BB engine equipped cars that the plugs were like that.  Just never owned one.  My ‘66 Chevelle SS396 had a huge engine bay. I could stand in it to get at everything.

LOL my first car was a 66 SS396 Chevelle. Easy car to work on anything. Ask me how I know. I ended up buying a fire breathing 427 with roller cam etc. Got to be an expert on 12 bolt GM rear ends until I was exposed to the Ford 9 inch gospel.

you think you’ve had a bad boss? here’s a blast from the past of one i had.

i had worked my way through as an engineer, then engineering manager, then a great mentor moved me over to marketing as the next step to eventually being a factory gm. i was still under 30 years old.

we were very profitable, thanks to this mentor. a separate division was shut down. it was a financial nightmare with crappy quality and operations. the guy who was that division manager had our good boss fired and he was going to move and run us.

the old boss’s office wasn’t good enough. he had to have an 800’ office added to the building with his own bathroom.

i’d been working for months to get a new oem customer - siemens. we’d build some of their products, nameplate them for them according to their specs. siemens is huge in the electrical business.

siemens moved from wisconsin to raleigh, north carolina. the buyer loved it because he was a golf nut. really nice guy, professional, smart, classy.

i’d fly down for meetings on fridays, then take him to play golf on the weekend. we played every course at pinehurst over time and others.  hey, that’s marketing.

we built their first couple of orders perfectly. i shepherded those every step of the way. they would give us enough orders in a year to cover the entire overhead of the factory. everything, so it was a big deal.

the buyer flies up to the factory and the new big boss wants to meet him, in his new office. i was petrified, because he was such a jerk.

he had a huge desk and two tiny chairs in front of it with all of the stupid tricks, like the chairs were 6’ from the desk, and were like dining table chairs with no arms.

i take the buyer in to meet him. the jerk boss had a giant ashtray filled with butts and was lighting up one after another. he had his feet on the desk to show off the nasty soles of his shoes after greeting us.

the first thing he said to the buyer was:

”i hope you’re here to give me more f)@(($ing orders!”

so there i was on the titanic. called my old mentor boss the next day, who had been snatched up by a competitor and had about 1,000 people under his wing. I had a factory gm job within 3 weeks.

the jerk boss ruined the place and they were sold off within a year and half the people lost their jobs. there were some great, skilled and good people in that factory and i felt bad for them.

one jerk with some power can ruin a lot of lives.

Siemens also had a plant around Chattanooga Tn. It was so long ago I can not remember if it was on the Tenn side or Alabama side. Everything we hauled out of there was oversized and heavy. All we did was drop the trailer and they loaded it and called us when the permits and load was ready. They paid the motel and dining expenses on the layovers. First class company to haul for. I am thinking the Raliegh plant was out on US 1 in Raliegh

Crazy stuff right da?!

Back in the 70s, my father would take me, Yankees vs Boston games were insane.

70,000 people chanting in unison,

”Boston sucks! Boston sucks!” 🤣

One time, was a day game, dad took me and some of my friends downs, sat it the bleachers!

So, I’m sitting like right against this chain link type fence that separated the bleachers from that black painted area next to it. Remember those seats? Nobody ever sat in them lol

So, Reggie steps up. “Reg-gie! Reg-gie!”

Crack!

Im telling you this ball was launched up into orbit da! Just went higher and higher but it’s coming out and out to right field and starts to descend, it’s just falling out of the sky right down toward me!

As it’s coming down you could hear it,  it’s literally sizzling like bacon! Tsssssssss!

Landed juuust over the fence in the black seats bastid!

Yankee games used to be dope!

saw a video of a guy who worked at tesla right out of college (business degree) and was a salaried production supervisor after 5 years. he had a 1.5 hr commute each way, starting at 4:30 am every day, because he couldn't afford to live closer. was sent an email that he was laid off while on the way to work. locked out; couldn't collect his stuff.

he's going to live in his tesla. he was a company man who bought one. he got up at 4am and home late at night. he's sick of the world.

He got a job already!

GNC store manager. He’s a bodybuilder it seems so he can save a fortune in protein powder! 🤣

These “ex-Teslas, ex-Google etc” folks have an advantage since companies know they typically very solid.

He may have been able to do better but possibly didn’t want to be out of work.
