I don't know if the rest of you are experiencing this, but everytime that there's a pink banner in the header warning of some technical issue, the response of the software turns to goo. It's really hard to fathom that after a year now they don't have a better handle on this...

You should be able to source lots of full set pulls of Taylormade's Speed Step 85 shafts on eBay. I'd get the R flex because they are soft tipped and you will likely have to soft-step the shafts to get the length to suit. .370 tips BTW.

I am using a complete graphite set in my one lengths. It includes PW,GW,and SW...

i have no problem with it. Took a few swings to get use to the length, but i like it. I

had to change to the graphite due to medical issues, and they surely helped with the

elbow, wrist pain. It has totally gone away, and i use to play only every three days due to it.

Now, i can play 18,5 days a week,tho i usually only do 9 a couple of them.

Hope this finds everyone in good shape for the start of spring.

been gone for a couple weeks. Had a vacation ...took the Gr. Daughter

golfing several times. She now out drives her gramps. A nice smooth long

arc swing and she is out there around 245/250. One day,two of her friends were

with us. None of them weigh over 130 and all three were hitting it out there. One is

in college, not on golf team and shoots in the high 30's for 9. The other wants to be a

doctor, and plays once every couple weeks due to study time and classes and still plays

in the low 80's. They will sure make a guy realize that time is marching on !

Aye. And precisely what has muddied the waters on which direction to take. The weight differential thing. Would still be ~40g's using the DG 115. As you mentioned, continuity of the "feels" (and relative heft) through all irons wielded. Not necessarily graphite v. steel from a material utilized standpoint. Yeah, likely not going to make one iota of noticeable difference. Not for an old whacker like me. LOL.

The WRX'ian solution is to acquire one of each. Keep the winner, jettison the loser. Actually someone elsewhere is doing precisely that with CBX 2's. Kinda been curious for further reportage on the test. Was going to order after posting earlier. Now back to waffling tendencies. Figure I still have some time. Not like I don't have wedges in inventory that could be used during the interim.

However, with PayPal funds idling away, one gets antsy to buy some golf gear. Especially at this time of year.

Ha! Ha! No. I'm not even checking my mutual funds these days to see how they're doing. Already know the anser.

Funds raised by selling off golf equipment should be utilized for buying new(er) golf equipment. Thus, keeping out of pocket expense at zero. Discounting and ignoring the long ago sunk costs inherent with the initial acquisition. I like virtually free golf stuff.

Up early this morning DWs birthday, a very young 75. Sat up in bed last night drinking the night away, couple of glasses of a decent red. Presents opened cards up, son off to work, breakfast then into the finishing touches for the Reno. Birthdays are always celebrated with a Sunday morning breakfast of bacon, flapjacks, strawberries and lashings of maple syrup.

have a good day Grillers, golf season is just round the corner.

There is a list of around 20 items that have been disappearing from the store shelves as part of the panic, The numb nuts that purchased them in bulk he now put their brains in gear, counted what they have purchased and speculated how long they last. Suddenly they are thinking I have enough toilet rolls for two/ three years, I could use that money for more beer, I will take them back for a refund.

Don't know about America but here they are very liberal with returns as long as they are not damaged, but, the stores have now cracked down and the list of panic purchases will be refused refunds, so suddenly they may have a jolt in the head and realise they wasted plenty of cash by acting like an idiot.

there is justice in the world.

Yeah, i gotta tell you guys...at first i was a little embarrassed, ya know, with the "these are young GIRLS,all not amazon types.

All i can say is their dads( and gramps) were very good about taking them golfing from a young age. And, they all do NOT

swing like we old men do.. They young guys, from 15 to 20 can blast the ball out there, but i kinda expect that. But, for the gals

to out drive me sorta brings home the getting older message ! They're pretty good golfers.

I was hitting some pretty good tee shots, my normal 220/225, and it sure looked like they were 30 yards past me.

Course, maybe it was just the idea that they were out there...it sure looked like a long ways past my puny efforts..lol

Don't feel too bad @billh17 . I remember when I played with my nephew's wife for the first time. It was probably 7 or 8 years ago. She was in her early 30's and I would have been in my mid 50's. I could still get the ball out there fairly good at that point and I remember her drive on the first hole. I stepped it off at 219 and that was only her second or third round of the year! Now I shouldn't have been surprised because they got engaged at a golf course and married at a golf course, so golf was part of their relationship, but still, I had never played with a woman that hit it that far. To make matters worse, she beat me by a couple of strokes and I played pretty we'll that day. Oh to be young and athletic even once, let alone again!
She's a real dish. The complete package. My nephew did well and he's no slouch to start with. I'm surprised that the pair of them haven't been asked to model for GQ! Poster children for Generation X.

You may jest but she would have been in Canada around that time as part of her world tour, she spent two years travelling round the world in a Land Rover. Never know she took several jobs to fund the journey.?

Some people have a knack for distance. It's not something you can teach per se, it's what you are born with. I have a friend who is just staring his fourth year of golf, is a 3HI and has a ball speed in the mid-180s. I played with his mother and father and the mother hadn't played in 20 years and her first drive went around 220. I don't happen to have that knack, lol.

getting out again today. This is early here for this much golf. The rain has been pretty much just a one day, drizzle type.

Not much flooding going on. The course was a surprise, due to not being as spongy/soaked as i expected. I hope all of you guys.

are able to have a good year on and off the course.

I pulled a muscle in my back and haven't been able to play...and the weather has been delightful (Monday and Tuesday was sunny an in the 60s). To fill the void I have been hiking. Just got back from a three hour hike...7.4 miles...the terrain can get a little rough, lol. I am supposed to play Saturday, hopefully I will be able to.

Good luck on getting out there ! Back issues can be a difficult thing to get over.

Especially the mental side of being hesitant/ginger due to not wanting the pain to come back !

I think most folks our age bracket have been there at one time or another ! It isn't any fun !

Up and about this morning, very cold. 17c /62f, almost time for the fire.

Today should see the Reno finished, bits of painting then that’s it. New furniture being assembled, art to hang, new recliner chairs still 5/6 weeks away.

Sons place of work starting to make them work from home where they can, Gold Coast and Brisbane are becoming centres for the infection, hundreds of Chinese students still turning up for university, hopefully the polies will stop it at some time.

I have been lucky with back pain, my main problem is my right arm and hand. With the Reno, cutting , hammering, painting etc it has had a big hit. This morning it locked up and I could not pick up or hold anything, takes around ten minutes to massage it to get it reasonably functional. Around 4 hours of finishing work today then a rest tomorrow and hopefully it will start to loosen up.

Whilst I am on here complaining about my hand I think of how minute a problem it is compared to what some poor soles are dealing with.
