I hear what you are saying, but, it has been proven time and time again that the human race is not very smart. We have similar in Australia and as soon as anything is loosened the idiots run around as if nothing has ever been wrong. Look at some of your countries demonstrations against the lockdown, they are in the worst areas for the virus, so what is going to happen is literally thousands more will die. We as a family do not like the lockdown, we went to the pharmacy yesterday and that was our first outing for four weeks, apart from arriving at a store and having goods put in the car boot, like it much better though than the alternative, death is forever.

Yes, death is forever, but the plain old flu takes plenty of lives every year and has never required this kind of response. I am losing faith in the information put out by the "authorities" because it has proven wrong time and time again.

Another point I heard today, flu is already with us but the social isolation has cut the normal numbers by 90% Flu is also passed on through person to person contact.

We are starting to have demonstrations up here in protest of continuing with the shelter in place measures indefinitely. Various levels of gov't have outlined frameworks to reopen, but no dates have been given, only a vague notion that it will be a very long process.

New Brunswick has begun the process with golf courses and ranges being opened this week with special measures in place to maintain distancing. But, they have only had 118 cases since it all began and no deaths. They should never have been locked down in the first place. I suspect it was done in support of the rest of the country in the name of unity.

I can see both sides of this but it is too easy to become complacent, my view is better safe than sorry. In Queensland we have had only one new case two days ago and none since but the majority are still in agreement with our premier who is now talking of easing restrictions from next week, but we have seen spikes in those places where the residents have decided to do their own thing. Australians in the main has been compliant and compared to the rest of the world we have had a very small outbreak. One of the major things was stopping travel between states, this means a spike in one state is not transferred to another, whilst restrictions within states will ease travel between states will still be banned. Don’t think this will go away quickly, so we may have to get used to it until there is a useable vaccination.

You guys be careful, as you come out of the "stay home" process. This thing is very contagious, and it has not gone away. We have lost a neighbor of twenty years,and he was a healthy man. Never sick, and an avid outdoorsman. And he was 58.

That is what gives us a jolt, being so close to home. At least we have had no new cases in three days in Queensland. Still being careful though. Condolences to your neighbour.

My DW has cut my hair ever since we have been together, Married 45 years this month. Does a really good job of it although it would take a very brave man to say otherwise. Getting a little long now as we are going into a bohemian state whilst staying home.

Tomorrow we start building the door for our new room, we have at last found a reliable wood merchant that does home delivery, came this afternoon so we can now finish the room. We have also changed the colour of the furniture we ordered as they have them in stock in Australia and will be delivered on the 14 th of May, fortunately it was the alternative colour we first considered.Pictures to follow.

The lockdown has worked over here, numbers are down and now it’s four days since a positive in Queensland. We are still cautious only partial easing from today. As I reported earlier, we are now in our flu season with only 10% of the normal cases thanks to the lockdown.

there is hope on the horizon but we are still taking it easy, don’t see any point in living this long then being killed because someone likes to eat bats. There are positives in isolation specially if it’s with someone you really love.
