Happy belated birthday to @tolmij!
Like @Sean2 the only thing I really want is a haircut, a game of golf and a trip to the chiropractor. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to accomplish all three this month as the reopening plans have been laid out and the first businesses allowed to open starts Monday. The powers that be seem to be moving faster on this than they were hinting at which is a good thing.
Glad to see that you're all in good spirits. That seems to be the most difficult thing to maintain. Now if only they could ever fix this software...

Happy Birthday Tol!

Never stopped playing golf in Idaho and Washington opening back up!

My barber dad taught Mrs. scotee to cut my hair years ago. I have always had my own personal barber.

Glad you all are well.

What's cooking for takeout at the Grille? I suppose when it reopens we can't let the girls lean in close or sit on our laps any more.

I use a laptop PC and it has always shown that if I hover over the like word........up to a point. When a post has more than a certain number

of likes it shows a few names and then a picket fence.

I don't have anything to report other than the accursed lag in response of the software seems to have disappeared. I don't know who is responsible, but whomever is BZ!

Well I really did it this time guys. Worked Wednesday. Was climbing up the ladder to sweep out. The ladder collapsed threw me down hard. Ended up with a fractured L3 Vertebrae cracked left scapula. Spent the last 3 days in the hospital 90 miles away. I am out of golf for at least 6 weeks. I may not get back in a truck do not know. But if you guys will spread the word on me I would appreciate it. I do not have the strength right now to sit up and type much

Wow, that is not a good injury STU, I think you wil find it takes longer for any back injury especially a fractured vertebrae before you will be playing again. A fracture can take anything up to six months to completely close, sons fractured knee is twelve months old and still causing trouble.

Take it steady and do not try to rush back, remember you are no longer a teenager so require extra healing time. A bottle of good red may help.

You hang in there Stu. Take it easy and give it plenty of time to heal ! I have never had anything like that so

I have no clue what work will be involved, except time itself. Get plenty of rest, and lots of old Western movies !

They will help pass the downtime ! Wishing nothing but the best for you.

Praying for you Stu, that was quite a fall, and a worse landing as they say. Glad you got to the hospital and the proper diagnosis and care. Sometimes we just want to get up and dust ourselves off. You take it easy now and let it all heal the proper way. We sure are thinking of you. I'm very glad it wasn't any worse even though this sounds quite painful. Take care, we all love our Stu...

Thanks man you know me well I tried to get up and could not That is what scared me. I knew I had finally done it to myself. With my medical training I knew I was hurt. Yep I used to be the Ironman. Not no more.I can tell you a good couple of ones both from racing. One night got in a bad wreck in the heat race. Hit another car head on full bore. well my wrist was stinging some. Naah no problem got into my back up car started the main in the rear. Ran a 50 lapper worked my self up from 25th to 5 that night. Went home and went to bed> i was a little sore. Ended up driving to Charlotte and playing 36 holes> now my wrist had swelled some but I used a bag of ice and played on. The next morning I got up my right wrist was swollen to twice it;s size. Went to my MD who also was friend of mine. They did the x rays and he asked me when I fractured my wrist? The the light bulb in his head went off. He was in the stands Saturday night. and he said never mind I know. He could not believe I ran a 50 lapper that night and played golf the next day. I had a radial fracture in my right wrist. Of course got a shorty cast and went to work and ran both Friday and Saturday night.Another time I had kidney stone surgery with the tube you know where. They let me and the tube and bag out on Wednesday. Friday morning I got one of the guys from the truck stop to help me load and chain the car. My wife was on weekend duty graveyard shift that week. I lied to her and told her that my bud was going to drive that night at Union. Naah You know who drove. That Saturday night I told my wife the same lie and drove at Gaffney and she caught me after the main. One of the guys at her work had been in Union on Friday night and told her I drove. Came to the track when the main started but it had started and she could not stop me. I got out after the race and she laid into me in front of everyone. One of the guys said there was no way I could drive with at tube in my John Henry. I wore a 2 piece driving suit and of course dropped the lower half in front of everyone. But yep you are right it hurt worse as we age and I honestly know this time I gotta take it easy because if I screw this one up I may not be able to play golf again

Our local Dick's Sporting Goods opened back up today so I went there to get some club work done and check out all

the new offerings. Hitting bays were closed so I couldn't hit anything so I just addressed and waggled. New stuff just

seems like another rabbit hole to me and I'm not tempted to buy anything new.

I went over and hit some putts with various new putters. On those "perfect" greens it never seems to change for me.

I can stand there from 12' with any putter and sink 2 outta 3 on average; ad nauseum. This continues to verify that

for me; putting is all about green reading and speed control. If I know the line I'm pretty confident I can start the

ball on that line 2 outta 3 times according to in-store results.

My conclusion is good putters are good green readers. If you can't read a putt correctly.........well, a great stroke

on the wrong line won't get the ball in the hole, lol.

Done stupid stuff myself over the years, mainly as part of fighting in judo tournaments. Dislocated and broke a toe in the first round of a competition strapped it up and carried on to win the trophy. Dislocated a shoulder and fought for my black belt two days later. Several similar incidents have now left me with aches and pains that I was warned about by a doctor friend Years ago. Still as with you even if I was certain of how it would finish I would not have done anything different.

*note to self...don’t mess with tol. ?

Good stuff, tol. Over the years, we do get beat up, knock on wood, not too bad and we can bounce back.

The key is to keep in mind, and I love how active you all are,....

You gotta move it or lose it!

Keep working your body as much as you possible can. Wisely, of course, prudently and stay within yourself. But push that body as hard as you can.

As I get older I realize there are a certain set of things that bring us a true feeling of contentment and peace. And the best of them, the truest, are all free of charge...

Feelings of unconditional love given and received.

The bliss of a wonderful, big, meal.

Awe at the glory of nature.

And the calm that comes after vigorous exercise and breaking a great sweat.

Those are what pop into my mind at the moment but Im sure there are more ; )

Always been active and no way is that going to change. Cutting wood this week because we have now lit our winter fire, we must have around three ton of wood as a local arborist gives it to us free rather than take it to the local waste facility and have to pay to dump it. The result is we do not have to buy wood and he does not get charged.

finished the barn door for our renovated room today, only have to fill in the screw head dress it down and paint. Fitted it tonight to find the height of the rollers, next time it comes in it will be to be permanently fitted.

I know the points you are making and can relate to all of them.

A loving adoring wife who is a brilliant cook and a garden backing onto a forest with an abundance of wild life, we have a seat at the bottom of the garden looking across a pond, the seat is made from a large log and DW loves sitting there taking in nature at its finest. Apart from all that there is plenty to do around the property to keep me permanently busy apart from all the special projects DW finds for me to do, some times find it difficult to find time to paint.

Allin all, life’s good.

Condolences, thoughts and prayers on this sad news. You mention something we have heard many times, and that is many

seem to be doing much better, with the worst behind them, and suddenly they pass away. Scary, this virus.

I decided to look this up and what the medical establishment is learning is that this virus is causing blood clotting problems in

some patients..........so some seem to be recovering and feeling better, then suddenly take a turn for the worse......blood clots

have been named as the likely culprits. Seems to me that with this knowledge doctors can treat people accordingly and save

lives.
