A golf bud today had some of the SuperSoft matte green balls. They have a weird feel to them when you hold them..................kind of soft and

rubbery. He was hitting them a long ways though. I hit some putts with 'em and it took a harder hit to get them to the hole....that's not a bad

thing to me. I might try some of the matte blue.

Could never use a fairway wood, so my alternative was a hybrid, the only one in my bag is a no 4, I can hit that off the fairway or the tee and always get good height and distance

Actually, I had just finished cleaning the clubs and polishing them after the season and was getting ready to store them for the winter when I took a couple of snapshots. There's a reason you don't see the faces of the clubs or the crowns of the woods... There in pretty good shape though considering the age of the gear and all were bought used.

That is why you gotta love this game...different strokes, for different folks (pun intended). My misses with hybrids are usually hooks, and I can't get the ball up very high, and I am a high ball hitter. That all said, I would rather hit an iron, but I can no longer hit long irons.

On another note, I will be curious to see how my first round goes and what these raised cups are all about. Is there a raised cup rule? I am not sure I would be comfortable giving myself a putt if it just grazes the cup and motors six feet by the hole.

I have found a couple of those matte balls, and yes they feel a bit different, but they seem to perform well. I think Volvik started the matte trend and a few others are picking up on it. Some of the colors are really vivid and very easy to see.

Been far too long, the girls in the grille have been asking about you every day. Cyndy was trying to find you on line last week and when we explained you had family problems she broke down and cried. She had been saving your favourite meal forever and finally gave up, she will be so pleased you are back.

Well now how can I put it, the usual culprits have been causing trouble, some people think they can play golf, others have no compunction in admitting they cannot play golf, some of us have not been able to play golf, and we have all been wondering when you would be back.

Things went haywire for a while with the site upgrade, several bits were added one at a time that always seemed to destroy something that was working, recently, that is this week a few other changes appear to have gone without too much trouble. We are hoping they have now employed someone with half a brain as far as programming goes, the previous ones did not display any coherent knowledge and consequently it went bottom up.

Apart from that it has been quiet.?????????

This thread is the friendliest and most supportive I have ever seen on any forum. Bunch a good guys here.

I am going to brave the elements and play golf today...just had a brief snow burst. Windchills will be in the low 30s and the course is soaked. Should be an interesting nine holes, lol. Hard to believe it is May. Feels more like mid-February. But, I know that good weather is just around the corner, so there is that. :-)

Have fun Sean. Better you than me. Ha! Had periodic snow squalls yesterday. Targeting Wednesday as the next best day to get out. Whether it be solo or with the buds, YTBD. Motorized carts are once again permitted here. With proper sanitation protocols and one to a cart. Some of our group that have infirmities will likely begin playing. Being that they don't have to walk. Think I'll keep on hoofing for the time being. Not like I'm unfamiliar with it. Several of the courses we play are a relatively easy stroll.

We're not open yet up here. I'm not sure when as the authorities have been deliberately vague about when. It's more a matter of weeks of declining case counts which we have yet to see.

I was hopeful that we would be open for next weekend which is a holiday weekend up here, but I'm not as optimistic about that now. May well be the first of June. You boys are going to have to enjoy the game for me.

I don't pay attention to the case count anymore. When I do hear it, I'm almost shocked at the totals and yet it's a far cry from what they say they need absent a vaccine which in all likelihood is a long ways off. It's depressing for a whole bunch of reasons that I won't get into. You just carry on as best you can and try and enjoy that which is enjoyable and find ways to keep busy to pass time. This is the first time in my life where I have felt that time was not an unlimited commodity that can be squandered waiting for better days. Perhaps that's the one positive that comes out of this: valuing the moment and the preciousness of time spent doing what we love with those that we love.

The wind was really blowing (it pushed my cart even with the brake on), and it snowed on and off on the front nine. I practiced safe distancing: the closest I got to anybody was around 600 yards. The place was deserted, just me and one other guy, and I didn't see him until I was on the 10th hole. Hard to believe it's May, but I am grateful to be playing golf once again. :-)

I won't be surprised if the governor rescinds the no motorized cart rule as he is violating the ADA laws.
