Practice swings are a part of my pre-shot routine... I am doing two things, and two things only with them...setting the tempo

and getting the feel of the soul hitting/bouncing the turf...two swings only, then set the club, breath in and start the swing...

probably spends a total of 30 seconds. Does it help? It isn't reflected in my scores, but its just a silly habit i got into.

You guys talking of injuries gives me hope, by showing that I am not the only one.

Really good to have Reason back with us.

I cant imagine Stu getting angry enough to say something to one of the keyboard warriors !

I have seen some of these guys spouting off,looking/sounding very arrogant, looking down their nose

types. Always wondered how some of them would react if put in their place. There is one in particular that just flat bugs me .

He is ALWAYS, in every thread, making an insulting , belittling remark to someone. Been on here a long time, and posts

a lot, but seems to always be hunting for an argument. Strange people out there !

Stay safe guys, and hope you all get out soon !

My question of the day: On the profile page, on the right side...it has a list of topics.

What are the "un-answered questions" In the interest of cutting down on use of data space,

how do we get rid of them? Do they serve a purpose? Just curious..

I noticed them before so I clicked on them and all they are......are threads people started with a question..................that never got a single answer/reply.....

..............so they sit there as "unanswered questions".

Edit: I guess you could go to each one and post something and make them go away, lol.

@billh17. The "Unanswered" quick link takes one to a new posting query that does not yet have a response. At least near as I can tell. Believe it's the first time I've ever checked what was within. No idea what the purpose is other than a global notification of a new posting question awaiting an enlightened response. Usually don't pay any attention to that panel, other than to delete a lingering My Drafts. Socks on software improvement IMHO.
Yeah, there are a few posters that rub me the wrong way also. Immediate ignore. Out of curiosity, went searching for what got Stu all lathered up. The big guy is always very hospitable in his commentaries. Didn't disagree one bit with his response. Need to cut first time posters some slack if it's not quite according to WRX'ian Hoyle. Everyone was a first timer at one point, attempting to understand the rules of the road. Stu's still posting, so he must not have been banished to the netherlands.
Tee time at noon tomorrow. Eight of us, nearly the whole gang. Now that motorized carts are allowed. Really looking forward to the first 18 holes of the season. Going to walk, may be the only one. Hoping I can keep up my end of the pace, and not get left in the dust by the carters. Or run out of gas about the 16th hole. A day to hit'em straight to minimize the chasing.

Thanks I am still here. That guy Ness has grated on me a long time. He always had something to say negative when I used to post on the clubmakers forum. I got where I do not post over there period. He just caught me in the right mood the other morning me being high off of painkillers for the last 8 days at that time. Yep I did not like the way he hit on a brand new member. FWIW I do not think the new member violated any rules. If I had I would have approached him in a different way. I took it as he had found some club builder equipment for sale and wanted to know what it was worth. BTW I am off the strong stuff and am on over the counter stuff plus muscle relaxers now and feeling ok

Sometimes shutting up is the same as giving them permission to carry on being an idiot, obviously the mods agreed with your view. Happy for you being off the hard stuff, it can really stuff with your mind.

The golf blog I was on in Australia banned me because I took on a real loud mouth that had been responsible for getting several members banned, after I had left the site they carried on making derogatory remarks about me so I contacted the head moderator and threatened legal action if he did not remove the posts, fixed the problem. I can banter with the best of them but some take it too far.

Thanks for the info on the "Un-Answered". I was just curious what they were for.

Fella. have a great round, and enjoy the day ! I know Conrad is going at least one day this week, and i have a 1pm tee time tomorrow.

Sounds like we are getting slowly back into it. Having been a recluse hermit for the last couple months, I am taking my own container

of sanitary wipes, and dont plan on doing much putting this time out. Need to get the feel of how things are being done.

Yeah, some of the folks on other threads must be a real sweetheart to be around ! And they probably have no clue why they have

few friends, and even fewer CLOSE friends.

It’s because they never ever consider they are in the wrong, it takes a strong personality like Stu to show them the error of their ways. The person that had me banned was suspended for three days for something he posted about me and of course it was my fault, he was abusive to many posters and they accepted it because he was a favourite with the mods, they played golf together. Eventually he crossed the line and I was the bad guy. They always get what they deserve eventually.

Thanks @Qqq123xx! Doubt I'll play until Monday and our regular league time. Hopefully the rain holds off. I tired to get online and book a tee time for Saturday, but the web site won't load, so I suspect everybody else has the same idea!

I bought some new balls......Maxfli Softfli..............have not bought a Maxfli ball in years and years. Thought I'd give these a try since I like

the Callaway SuperSofts so much, which are 38 compression. These are 35 compression so slightly softer. I bought the colors separately

but had to put 3 together for a pic since I'm a red, white and blue kinda guy........................wow, the red looks orange in these pics but

definitely looks red in person.

Congrats Buddy!!! About time, huh? You know the weekend is going to be slammed. And rain forecasted for Sunday and Monday. But from then on, looks to be perfect golf weather. Unless one is not averse to playing in the rain. Not much of a mudder, given the choice.

Yesterday was a very comfortable golf day. Sunny skies, temps comfortably cool (~60*), made for an enjoyable stroll. No problem keeping pace with the carts. The course installed a plastic partition that divided the riders. So they were allowing two riders to a cart. Even managed to traverse the appx. 5900 yards without tiring out. Ha. I'll be walking more this season. At least until it becomes hot and humid. Then I'll ride. NTM, my round was $15.00 less than everyone else's. The during the week senior rate was only $22.00, so a good deal for a round of golf.

Wish the golf would have been commensurate with the quality of the day. Could not get any facets of my "game" in sync with one another. When I was hitting good drives, iron play was off. Got my irons working half way decent, started spraying drives around. Chip & pitch short game was OK throughout (one facet that I practiced with some frequency during the early stages of "Stay at Home"). Putted well the first 6 holes, then lost it. Way to many three putt holes thereafter. Shot a 48/46, mediocre at best. Two blowup holes with 8's, driving then banging around in the trees, wreaks havoc with the scorecard.

Enjoyed the round with the buds nevertheless. Hit just enough good shots to look forward to the next opportunity to get back out.

Well then, I guess no cartwheels either.

You guys that walk almost make me feel guilty for riding..............almost..............but not, lol. EVERYONE rides down here...............well, not

EVERYONE but probably 99%. The alternative, I guess, would be frequent 911 calls and paramedics trampling the courses to rescue

exhausted people, lol.

I think it depends where you live. I live outside of Boston and we have a lot of older courses that are easy to walk. Some of the new courses don't allow walking as the distance between the next tee from the previous green can be quite long. Also, for example, Florida in the summer would be unwalkable as the heat index would probably be above 100º. :-)

I walk 99% of the time, but on really hot, humid days the cardiologist says I have to take a cart.

Always like their logo. Think it is one of the best in the business. Eons ago I used to play the Maxfli black dot 100 compression. Like I said EONS ago.

Had prose ready until reading what Sean mentioned. Redundant. Key being green to next tee distance. Several courses here are very walkable because of this. Yesterday being a prime example. An older parkland style course. One course in regular rotation is quite hilly. Walkable, but can be a slog. The long, all uphill Par 5 16th can be brutal, occurring where it does in the round. Warm (~85*+) and humid, I'm carting.
I get out for a quick solo 9 holes at local course 10 minutes from home. Easy stroll. Walk that one all the time. Often with some of the classic implements along for a swat. Having a good push cart makes all the difference. For me at least. Never been one to enjoy carrying a golf bag. Can push the cart around with one hand. @Conrad1953. Pretty balls. You'll now be able to color coordinate the balls to your golf shorts you're wearing on the day. I'm in if someone begins making khaki colored balls.
