Are those both explorer models? Or what is the top one called, looks closer to a soccer shoe than golf.

Yes I was an ES/Demo Tech for them at one point. But I give my honest opinion about their clubs, apparel, and footwear. I don't buy the stuff that I don't like or think isn't a good product. I get to try out most of the stuff before I buy it for myself so why would I buy something I don't like to write a negative review about it later on here, I just don't buy plain and simple, logical right? buy stuff you like and works for you? crazy concept. I just don't comment on products that I'm not a huge fan of not a big deal. So....no....I will not stop giving input on products that I think are great and have had a good experience using.

 

You have your opinions I have mine, that's why they're opinions and not facts. You may have slipped in yours I have not slipped in mine, guarantee we have different body types swings etc and play on different courses, that put different stress on the shoe and how you interact with the ground. Not sure how you can tell me that I have slipped in shoes when I haven't. Having over fifteen pairs of shoes in rotation mine are not worn down nor have the fish hook effect like mallrat described.

 

Now you've had over 35+ rounds in yours I've probably worn the platinum pair and the UNLTD pair maybe 20 times total between the two and only wear them on dry days since they're all flyknit. So yeah could you possibly slip in them most likely but you can slip in any shoe that is a fact no shoe is slip proof, and no shoe has a slip proof guarantee (except for maybe those shoes that they have people wear who work in kitchens) Have I slipped in the flyknit elites no.

For the record, I was a bartender for many years and there is NO such thing as slip proof shoes...even if they claim to be. LOL!

Any word on how the soles hold up in "real life"?

 

Heard a mixed bag, if they are your only shoe they will wear but if you mix them in they will be great. Small note, walking on grass vs cart paths greatly increases the how long they keep their grip. The cart paths can bend the little nubs which is what will tear up the greens since then they act like little fish hooks.

 

That said I don't know of anyone who has slipped once with these soles.

The sole holds up great. Mine still looks new minus the yellowing from 35+ rounds but, I slip often. I am not a fan and can't imagine many high swing speed players would be. That being said, Rory is gaming the sole but I'd game them if I had his contract.

 

I guess I should have restated what I said. The soles don't wear out, the nobs have bent for a few people I know. I get that you have had slip issues but you are the only one I have talked to that has.

 

Also know a few production things on this shoe or more specifically the Flyknit Elite, which may have been altered for the 2017 line of shoes.

I heard no, the shoe just didn't sell well enough and it's targeted at a pretty limited group of golfers. Can't say many people look to go out and play in the rain majority of average joe golfers see rain and don't think about golfing tough to produce a shoe targeted at the few who run to the course when it rains

I FINALLY got to wear my Bandons this past weekend, I ordered them from Golfsmith in like, April and it wasn't until mid July when I actually got them. They are great shoes, I actually really like high tops with golf pants and the waterproofing is second to none. Hopefully I don't have any zipper issues like the ones that were recalled.

Yep, play as late into the fall as possible, start as early as possible.

 

Nice 3 days of 70's here in Iowa in November, playing all 3.

 

I like my Bandon's also, and with limited wear, should last a long time.

Well. As others have stated. This is disappointing. :( My Bandon 2s are wearing out. I should have jumped on the Bandon 3's when they were on sale.
