You obviously are not up to date with the weather in central Ohio, where I said the balls arrived.

... Oh I spent 45 years in Chicago so I am very familiar with Midwest weather. 😉  I moved here 4 years ago so I would never experience it again. I'd say com'on down but we are over crowded as it is. Of course you can grab a couple dozen Yellow V3's and come to Phoenix for a long weekend! (Just not June-August 🥵

Yeah, I saw that and thought it a strange listing to charge more for the whites but they changed it.

If they are $27.99 online at the moment, what are they in-store? Historically when they are on sale online, they are even cheaper in store, usually like $23.99. I haven't been in store for a few weeks to see

Aside from the low cost, those who have played with the yellow balls a few rounds. Are they game changers for golfers who like yellow balls or are you still tempted to play a yellow Srixon ball for example?

I just gave three dozen Srixon QStar Tour yellows (and one dozen white) to my wife to trade in on the Soft Feel Srixon's that she prefers.

I just like the Kirkland ball that much more.

Ordered two more double boxes yesterday since they're "on sale" and not available in the two Kansas City stores that I checked on Tuesday.

They're very yellow which I like.  I use them as needed around dusk mostly.  Haven't noticed anything objectionable performance wise either compared to my usual balls.

Must have just got them in as they weren't there on Tuesday.

That's OK though - I don't mind them bringing them to the front door as long as it's the same price!

You do know that the boys are gonna make fun of you though right?

... I do enjoy beating a ball snob with Maxfli Tours and Kirkland V3's.

... One of my younger playing pards is only 36 and used ProV1's since high school where he played #1 for his team and is a very good player. I gave him a V3 and a Maxfli Tour to try and to his credit he put each in play for a full 18 holes. He didn't care for the V3 because he lost about 10yds off the tee and 1/2 club on his iron approaches but he is a higher swing speed player and I expected this might be the case. He couldn't find any difference between his ProV1 and the Maxfli so he bought a cube of the Maxfli's for $120 and they should last him til next summer.

For the most part it's a "yes" for me. I like the feel of these V3's enough where I won't consider buying my favored ball (Bridgestone Tour B Rx optic yellow) unless they are on clearance sale like this weekend.

I picked up 6 dozen Kirklands for under $100, and 4 dozen Tour B Rx's from Maple Hill Golf for $120. That should be enough balls for a round or two.

  • 2 weeks later...

I went to visit my BIL in Newark, DE over the weekend.  He gave me a box of the yellow Kirkland balls before we went out to play on Saturday morning.  I normally play the Vice Pro Plus.  I didn't notice any difference really in distance or feel.  The temperature was in the upper 40's and very damp.  I was really expecting a distance loss but that was not the case.  I have tried the previous version of the Kirkland ball and found it to be too "clicky".  The V3 had a really nice feel off the putter and around the greens.  My wife and SIL where out shopping while we were playing so sent her a text at the turn and ask her to pick up three boxes of them if they made it by a Costco.  Now I have eight dozen that will take me through the winter.  It's hard to believe the yellow balls aren't in our Costco, which is ~200 miles south of Newark, seeing as we can usually play year round.

They are game changers only in how much cheaper they are. Their performance is “good enough” but I think several others beat them in feel and/or performance (pro v, z star, vice pro plus).

but the price trumps all that for me, bc it’s not close.
