My new head...

Wow...187.4 head weight? Is that Pre adapter and with no weights in head? Seems really light? Those wedges look sick...

I asked about this, and at this time, there's no plans to bring a raw finish to market, despite those raw heads. Currently even tour players can't get the raw heads unless they're, how should I say this, a player with gravitas?

Let's get the good stuff already :D Did everyone bring their gamers to compare?

Yes for the most part we did. Unfortunately it rained ALL day and it still is, so we just did driver and putter. TM actually had one fitter assigned for each WRXer to have for 3 hours to hit everything outside. So with the rain we had to test balls in one bay and get driver fitting in the other bay while one guy was in the putter room.

TP5/TP5x testing against current ball!

TP5X is legit. Could easily play that ball this year.

Would love to hear more about the balls. How does TP5 stack up against TP5x?

They said they will perform pretty much the same, but the TP5 will be softer. They also said that the 83 or so compression in the TP5 is not for slower swing speeds. The X has like 90 compression. The biggest difference is feel and sound. Tomorrow we'll be playing both balls on the course.

Keep it up guys.....Sergio won with tp5 and DJ the tp5x....have they distinguished what player fits what ball and are we to expect gains with BOTH?

Yes gains with both. The real difference is mainly feel and sound. Sergio likes a softer ball.

Congrats guys! Great pics! Interested to see how you guys felt the M1 and M2 compared to each other. Looks like M1 won out for 3/5.

Never hit the M2. Jason the fitter knows his stuff! Jason Day asks for him every time he comes in. He pretty much had me dialed in on his first set up.

How are the wedges ? They look great !

Yes they do look great. They felt really good. Unfortunately with the rain I only hit like 10 of them of the mat. I really can't review them without hitting them on the range, rough, and sand.

The wedges were great. Really nice shape and feel. I am anxious to try one on grass hopefully tomorrow. They look fantastic. I need one of the raw ones.

Spot on. They said you might see 2-3 yards extra distance off the driver with the TP5x, but the difference would be negligible. The main variance is greenside feel, which would be softer with the TP5. Choice among tour players is mainly preference for feel. Both are designed to be longer off the driver and irons than the competition, but with no loss of greenside performance or feel

We all saw gains across the board with the irons and driver, and the ball feels great.

Things I want to ask about so far

The JDay and DJ spiders (Had a ghost spider S and sold it like a dummy)

The 750/770 irons

TP5/X ball (loved the TM lethal, played t for a long time)

Milled Grind wedges. I'm a fan of heel and toe relief on wedges and want to see how their grinds stack up.

I am really interested in seeing the numbers from a properly fitted M1/M2, but deep down I am an iron/wedge junkie. Can't wait to learn about the 750s and MG wedges.

Just to follow up on this, I spent a good deal of time with the P750s this afternoon in the hitting bay. Anyone who follows the "blade users" thread knows I am a blade guy through and through. I have to say that the 750s look great to this blade user at address. The 3 iron is an absolute scalpel, which I love. The soles were as thin as anything I have hit, and the overall finish was very, very nice. It harkens back to the old RAC MB/CB days with the satin finish and swirl faces. A really pleasing package. Feel was very pleasing - muted and solid. Launch and spin were both higher than expected from the typical CB iron - very blade like in performance. It is a small profile that a traditional iron player would appreciate. I really settled into them very easily during the session. If you want a slightly more forgiving player's profile, like an AP2 or an s55/iBlade, then the 770 is a clear choice. But, if you want a shotmaker's iron, the 750 is the one you want. I have MP4s in the bag, and I would go so far as to say the 750s are cut from the same cloth. Very maneuverable with excellent feel and feedback in a great looking package.

I'm in love with the look and profile of the 3 iron. If I had to compare it, I would say that the lines and sole configuration remind me very much of the original Nike VR TW blade, which is high praise in my mind. It just looks like you can hit any shot with it. We played a little game where we were trying to see who could generate the highest ball speeds with the long iron. For reference, Andrew and Zak were both getting 150+ out of the 770s. Absolute missiles! The 750s weren't made for that game, but when I dialed back and started hitting "shots" with them - low, high, left/right, right/left, they were standouts. Towards the end of the day, as I settled into hitting shots rather than making swings, I really enjoyed hitting the 750s. I like to say that I "bunt" my irons around the course, hitting the shots that the lie and pin position call for. These irons were made for that purpose.

By the way, it is 3:20 EST and I am still wired from the day's events.

It's great that you're still stoked and didn't let the elements damper an already helluva experience/opportunity! In the future, WRX and said sponsors of event should always have a contingency in place to ensure the objective is complete and successful (full fitting for the selected members). I'd start a GoFundMe page and try and get an extra day or so to recompense for the day of little activity (rain check). You'd be amazed at what people will donate for these days!

Enjoy the rounds fellas and keep the spirits high!

Really bummed for you guys about the weather.... At least the guys were still able to get some stuff done.

Aviara is a great golf course. I love playing it when I'm out there. After the Callaway trip my flight was later in the day and I met up with some local friends and played there before I left town. I HATE #18 that hole gets me everytime... Its not overly hard its just one of those holes thats a mental block.

Have fun guys
