Look forward to seeing what people got fit into. Guessing almost everyone got fit into the M2

3 M1's and 2 M2's.

I got fit into an M1 8.5 cranked up. With a HZRDUS Black 6.0 tipped an inch.

Wow surprised at that. Seems like all the tour guys are in the M2. Anyone even try to fit into the 440 :D ?

Schnee you must have Trackman overload after doing a fitting at Club Champion and now at Taylor Made

I really didn't look at my numbers much at the Kingdom. I was a bit Steep and wasn't hitting it all that great save for a few. I trusted Jason Werner, our fitter, and he knew what he was doing. The driver flat out PERFORMED on course today.

I was thoroughly impressed with the TP5 and the X. There were a few instances today were I knew I should have probably gone with an extra club, only to be pleasantly surprised by a GIR.

The TP5 ball spun less but apexes a bit higher for me. This is exactly what taylormade said the ball is designed to do. Around the greens, I thought each ball was very responsive with the non X ball playing a bit softer in the feel department. I will need to test the ball more at my home club and under less wet conditions...but this is likely my ball for 2017.

By the way, for all those interested in more information about the TP5 and TP5x balls, be sure to check out the video posted on YouTube titled "Jon Rahm And the TaylorMade TP5x Golf Ball." Make sure to watch the full length version (3:58 duration). It is eye opening and completely unscripted. TM believes this guy is going to be an absolute world beater, but when he came on board he was adamant that he would continue playing the ProV1x, which he had played his entire competitive life. The video is very telling and mirrors what a lot of the WRX guys were seeing in their own fitting process.

You're not the first person to tell me that this is going to be their ball for 2017. I'm super super intrigued!

Besides the great group of guys I went with and the TM gang, there's is one thing that I learned is that I'm in rough shape!

- I need to pack up and move somewhere I can golf year round!

- I need to loose weight and get in shape

- need to see a chiropractor

- need some adidas

- break down and get lessons

Ok that's more then One!

Oh, did I mention that Jory had 3 birds and Zak had one!

How's that Jory?

George ,you can leave Minny and hang with me in South F-L-A...we'll push each other!

I hope you guys get to meet Perry at TM. Great guy who knows how to have lots of fun....

We got to spend a good amount of time with Perry yesterday afternoon. Good dude that seemed to really enjoy working with us on Trackman. Had some nice comments about my ball striking and some good suggestions on my iron specs that I will definitely take to heart.

Due to the unfortunate weather situation, did you just get to pick iron/wedge specifications?

I see cameras! Oh snaps, we're gonna see a them in the next TMAG commercial!

Maybe ....

It won't feature me, though! The ball testing was first out of the shoot yesterday. I was completely cold and hadn't hit a ball in a week and a half. My first 5 warm up shots were all bottom groove and I threw in a smooth hosel rocket to go with it. By the time the cameras started rolling, I had the worst case of stage fright I have ever felt in my life - shaking like a leaf!!! I played baseball in front of 12,000 fans and never felt as nervous as I did in front of 5 guys and 2 cameras!!!

I'd love to hear TM's thoughts on one-length irons. Tell them you are "asking for a friend" so as not to damage your WRX street-cred.

The topic was discussed . . . Briefly. I didn't get the sense that there are any plans for them.

Keep it up guys.....Sergio won with tp5 and DJ the tp5x....have they distinguished what player fits what ball and are we to expect gains with BOTH?

Great question. The general sense that I got was that the TP5x is the slightly better performer nearly across the board, but the TP5 is the ball for those players who have a strong preference for softer feel greenside. There is not a huge difference in performance between them, but the TP5x will spin less and fly slightly farther - like 1-2 yards. But it is slightly firmer feeling, and some of the feel players are willing to give up the minimal distance gains for the slightly more muted sound/ softer feel.

Drew, I hope you and Rob add the new TP5's to your ball test. I'm truly intrigued by the ball after what I've read here and watching that video.

I'm sure there's a joke somewhere in the last half of that last sentence, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Where's MTLJeff, I'm sure he can figure it out.

That'd be sweet! From what Andrew was telling me before he hopped on his flight, it's going on the bag. So if we had a FS session, it'd be for me to test it, lol. Hopefully we can play some golf soon and then maybe a bit afterward we can do a practice session with the FS at my place. You can bet the thread will be updated if we do!

Dang! How did I miss this entire thing!?!?!?!?! Some of my favorite WRX'ers on this one. Congrats guys.. weather in So Cal has been bad, the most rain I've seen possibly ever. Basically the last 4 month on and off.. tomorrow it will probably be 70 and not a cloud in the sky.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the irons.. I've had the TP5x in play for the past 2 weeks.. definitely leader in the club house for my new ball.

Maybe we'll do a TP5, TP5x, Chrome Soft X matchup.... Might see some interesting things! I definitely want to compare the TP5 and TP5x a little bit more head to head. I love the feel of the TP5 (the x doesn't feel bad, just doesn't make me go weak at the knees), but I only hit one drive with it today, so I can't say much about it in terms of pure performance yet.

In-N-Out burger for lunch. Jack In the Box for dinner. I feel like I'm 22 years old and playing baseball in the California League again. These were the dietary staples of every finely tuned athlete in that league back in 1997!

In N Out all day. Jack now just ends in gut rot haha but I love those curly fries!!

Looks like you guys had a great time, bummer it rained, but still got a ton of great stuff out of it. And of course Aviara...

So, did you guys just get to pick whatever set of irons/wedges that you wanted built to your specs?

Are they going to build them and send out to you?

Cool, they are hooking you guys up, looks like it was a lot of fun.
