When does it end, DJ? :)

With all appropriate respect to Johnson for his incredible and consistent play, I'm not sure he's deep enough to think about things. And you know what...not thinking in golf can be a great thing!

Maybe that's my problem....?

DJ should bail on the SHell Houston or miss the cut. Too much golf prior to Augusta.

He needs the cash apparently. With a kid and one on the way! :cheesy:

Uhhh what?

They each were worn out. Rahm had to dig deep and make something happen. He nearly did. DJ literally hung on.

I don't think that's fair to DJ though, to say Rahm lost it and DJ didn't win it. Sure DJ played safe golf at the end, but his safe golf is still incredible. He won those holes early to get to that spot.

It's like saying Willett didn't deserve the masters last year. I understand what they are saying, but that's not fair to Willet (and I'm not a Willett fan)

I think my comments are self explanatory to anyone willing to try, especially if you watched the match, I think you'd understand what I'm trying to say.

So if you understand what I'm saying, why not say something more substantive than "what??"

Rahm could've built an early lead, if not for an ice cold putter. He then proceeded to lose the next few holes because of the same. DJ wasn't winning by birdieing those holes - Rahm was missing short putts that we haven't seen him miss before. Ergo my statement.

It's just an opinion. Obviously. And I'm probably the biggest DJ fan around here, but in my book, Rahm outplayed him for long stretches of the match - testament to him clawing it back the way he did. Gutsy and entertaining performance. As opposed to a more cautious approach from DJ. But then again, that's all he needed to do. Again, just an opinion

Too bad for the young whippersnapper. In the end, he went toe to toe with the world number 1...

Although in truth, Rahm lost the match, DJ didn't win it.

Either way, congrats to DJ. That's now 4 on the trot, surely he's got to be the favourite heading into Augusta now

horrible assessment.

Again, just my opinion

3 straight wins. Man it must be fun to get that text the next morning notifying you of your winnings being deposited.

Phenomenal golf from this guy. Can he keep it up or

Peaking too early in the season?

He's not showing any signs of slowing down.

Thats the thing. Seems like once youre on a run like the one DJ (rory, spieth, day),

You cant slow down or the run is done. The intensity required to win seems like it frys their brains.

DJ is a cool customer, though.

It would be interesting to see how the sales of the M1 and M2 do this week.

Or the golf balls...

DJ played 112 holes this week, Rahm played 108 holes. Not surprising that the final is a lower standard than some of the other matches. Like he did at WGC Mexico, Johnson did what he needed to do to win, there was a time when he didn't always do that, so he deserves credit for that.

Yes, Dustin has figured it out. He used to give away so many golden opportunities, but that was the old DJ. It will be interesting to see how long he can keep it going.

Without hesitation, he's in amazing physical condition. It's also interesting that you haven't seen anything regarding back issues, glutes, hammies, etc. My guess is that due to the various family influences, he's living a much more healthy lifestyle and having the Great One as a mentor, combined with incredible talent, is producing phenomenal results.

Butch finally got through to him about losing the push draw which led to 1 or 2 foul balls a tourney. the fade really put him on another level especially with his wedges. Really softened his 3/4 wedge swing.

Hes not huge on the weight training but on strength and balance exercises. Lots of medicine ball work stretching elongating routines

and he's blaming a noise... come on Rahm

No indication that he was blaming the noise, it was the announcers.

Johnny was being dramatic about the noise saying "it was at the worst possible time" which is total BS... He had time to back off.

Seriously wish the broadcast clowns would ramble less. Maybe they need to cut the broadcast staff in half, reduce costs and reduce commercials.

Golf is dying without tiger! Isn't it?

Dying, no. But to be fair, there was no more than 50-100 people in this thread all day. The effect isn't the same.

Right now we have a bunch of guys playing great golf. There's not A guy. It remains to be seen if DJ or anyone else for that matter can be THE guy.

I'm a BIG fan of DJ, and honestly, I think he's gonna be number one for as long as he wants to be.

I'll just quote myself from a year ago:

DJ has 2 WGCs, a Hyunda ToC, with a couple of FedEx events thrown in for good measure. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays over Sergio's "world wide wins"

Should he decide to get off the beach drinking mojitos with Paulina and somewhat putt averagely...

If Fred Couples is the standard for the Hall of Fame, DJ is on his way into that because they've both 15 PGA Tour wins, 1 major now. Couples won the Players twice, but Johnson has 5 WGCs. DJ obviously going to win more tournaments as well. Judging off his form this year, Furyk on 17 wins should be in his sights next on the all-time list.

Jason would have to play and play as well to to have a say
