Truth. I live in Nebraska, means means golf season ends for all practical purposes on Sept 2nd this year as football season begins. The G400 may play less than 3 rounds of golf in 2017, will be a range veteran though

Tried the G400 Driver and 3W with Alta CB shaft and Tour 65 yesterday. Looks and feels/sounds amazing. Distance and dispersion for me wasn't anything better than my M1 so I am trying hard to convince myself the LST is the one to get. LOL

 

The Alta CB is a very smooth feeling shaft however it did not perform well for me. When I put the Tour 65 in everything came alive for me. Ping has definitely come a long way for their in-house shafts.

Apparently don't have enough people working to keep up with demand, I doubt you would find a better delivery date elsewhere.

Ugh is right...guys they are probably using real time inventory management that predicts delivery based on number of orders vs product available. If custom order then obviously goes into build queue. Calling it poor or faulty is most likely not reality. Last time I looked x torsion was not listed in X on their site...some won't even know to ask for it. Also, many reps probably won't have trackman so we could hit them but not compare to what we are playing now.

I'm not understanding your post, are you saying it's not poor on Pings part to be a month behind the drop date for orders being placed now? I expect to be able to place an order before they are released with a ship date reasonably close to that release date.

I don't know that I would consider my order "special stuff." I was fit into the lst 10 degree with tour 65 stiff. Only difference is I want it built at 45". Pretty sure they have to butt trim all their shafts anyway. And I'm still getting quoted a late August ship date. I'm not sure I'd call that great inventory management, especially when you want to take maximum advantage of your release hype and you have only a couple months to do so in states that experience fall/winter snow...

I'm told a small batch of retail stuff should be available on the release date and additional retail stuff will trickle in until they're caught up on pre-orders.

 

If you want one for this season, you need to go get fitted now.

Our stock drivers shipped Monday. I expect to have them in hand by tomorrow at the latest and ready to go on shelves 7/27. Fairways and hybrids are not slated until 8/17 so those haven't left the warehouse.

For the G400 LS and the X-Torsion shaft, i got quoted end of August for ship date. Still want to try the shaft and just don't HAVE to have a new driver, so looks like I'm still a month away.

Well I don't know what to tell you I had my pro last week order me a 10 1/2 G 400 with a 44 1/2 inch shaft and he has the tracking number and mine will be here Monday it left Phoenix today so I don't know what to tell you all I can say is if you've ordered one you need to check

I put in an order at a local shop and due to miscommunication the wrong item was ordered. I placed order for 9* LST assuming it came in that loftt since last year's LS did, and I asked for 6.5 Yellow Hzrdus ($45 upcharge). He called Ping and asked for 65gm hzrdus to which Ping said that's a $275 upcharge! He informed me of this and in the confusion, I asked him to just order the stock shaft (since I plan on installing the Atmos Black anyway). The shop owner proceeded to order the 9* SFT!

 

He called me yesterday and said his tracking indicated it was coming in on Friday! I jumped up in joy until he stated the full order! No no no!!

Long story short, we ended up redoing the order - 8.5* LST, $45 Hzrdus with anticipated delivery of late August. ?

 

If you're looking for a 9* SFT with stock Alta in stiff, and you live near Orange County, CA....PM me and I can put you in contact.

 

To protect his account with Ping, not sure if he would have handed it to me prior to 7/27...But I thought it was interesting that he's getting the order this week.

Tried to book a fitting AT PING in the Toronto area, and they don't even have the upcharge shafts to try. Given the late delivery dates I'm hearing, I'm not too fussed, but it is a little frustrating that NO ONE around here has the Tour 65x or 8.5LST to test.

Just ordered the G400 10.5 with Tour 65 S and G400 3H with Tour 85 S through DDG. Having them shipped to my friends in MD since I'll be out there for the next couple months. I am PUMPED :).

Gotcha. Looks like that shaft is ready to go while the upcharge shafts are set to ship later. I'm not confident I get my driver by mid September, regardless of the quoted ship date. And not saying it will be Ping's fault, going to be surprised if Aldila gets enough shafts to them to meet this demand on schedule

Pre-ordered 10.5* 44.75" stock shaft yesterday, got an email a minute ago:

 

"Your G400 Pre-Order is scheduled to ship directly to you from Ping on or before August 18th."

Yeah, there's a lot of unknown info on this release for sure. Ping telling one person one thing and another something totally different regarding shaft availability, ship dates; etc... Callaway and TM get a lot of heat for their releases going like this, but not Ping...

I'm not in the business but I was at my local Dicks the day they put out demos. The guy showed me 2 boxes that he said contained 40 G400 drivers fairways and hybrids. He said they are not allowed to open the boxes until the morning of the 27th when they will go out on the floor

Actually now I remember he first said they were all drivers but he assumed the fairways and hybrids were in there too. So likely all drivers.

So the retail allotment has been sent already, which means custom orders should have not hit a bottleneck due to retail release date. That is even more discouraging, must be a shaft related issue for those ordering anything except the Alta

As far as mine, my pro looked on the business side of pings website, my order says coming UPS left Phoenix today expected delivery 24 July. Other than being an inch and a quarter shorter mines stock but I know they had to add something to keep the weight consistent as the stock length.

Well that's 6 days sooner than the date I got for a custom order LST
