It's not always the end....you can continue with the prayers. I've been on palliative care for almost three years and still playing golf. It sometimes just means the end of the chemo. A lot of miraculous things happen around cancer. I'm still pulling for him and his family, praying for strength and hope. This guy and his wife are as strong as they come.

That's really uplifting to hear. To be honest, I have probably given the typical "thoughts and prayers" response many a time. But, if I'm being honest I don't really think too much about it and I don't pray. I just opened twitter and this news was at the top of my feed...I literally felt my shoulders slump and I just can't look at the pictures of him in the hospital bed with his kids. Maybe it's because I lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago...Anywho...keep swinging away, enjoy the time and keep kicking a**!

I too saw the news this evening. My heart sank as well. As an Aussie, my heart goes out to him and his family. He represented true Guts & Determination as we say.

I did say a prayer for him and his family and also all those close to him, it is the least I could do for a fellow countryman.

God Bless him, Lord.

Really sad news, especially after the positivity that came out of him beating his previous battles. He isn't a well known name in the general Australian landscape, but this has been getting a lot of coverage, and a lot of people outside the golf world have really felt this.

I felt very hollow after reading this when I woke up. I can't even begin to imagine how he and his family feel right now.

Power to you brother. Tremendous outlook by you. Stay strong!

I sent an email to Titleist (Aus) to see if they can organise to release the yellow hat for sale on their site with proceeds going to his family and/or charities that he supports. No response from them as of yet.

I also picked up a headcover today from his charity. They ship worldwide, so would be great to get some support. Truly heartbreaking news, the guy has been battling cancer his entire career, never stopped fighting.

It'd be great if he could turn on the golf this weekend and see his fellow competitors showing support by wearing yellow bucket hats.

I’d love to see that happen too, every player and hopefully a lot of the spectators in yellow bucket hats on tours around the world!

I purchased a couple of the valuables bags from the challenge website, one for myself and one for my best mate.

There are a bunch of guys at my club who use bags like these for their betting money, I’m hoping I can get a lot of them to buy the bags in support of a worthwhile cause.

My thoughts go out to the Lyle family, a terribly hard decision has been made and I hope the palliative care professionals can make Jarrod comfortable before he passes.

I'm not an emotional guy but seeing the picture of him with his daughters in his hospital bed got to me. Probably because I now have two young daughters of my own and I couldn't imagine having to go through the battle he has been fighting. Prayers to him and his family.

Thanks for the honesty. Comedian Anthony Jeselnik(sp?) hits on this in one of his acts, and while it's funny, I think there is a lot of truth: saying that really means don't forget about me. As if not saying it will make you a worse person, when in fact, saying it is more like you were describing your reality. I read these threads because sometimes there is a post like Jordan Speeth's that make it worthwhile, but usually have to cringe through the others.

That is good to hear that poster Jordan Speeth has gotten 3 years out of it. Real good.

Terrible news. I think people need to take a few minutes and try to imagine being in his shoes. What an unlucky hand he has been dealt. Hopefully we see a lot of yellow this weekend.

Have to say i was shocked when i read that he had been put into Palliative care.

Im familiar with how it works and know that outside cancer its really rare for folks say under 65.... It means that certain conversations have been had and certain concessions made.

I cannot imagine that pain ... Having to face that reality at that age , with kids that age.

It seriously pisses me off that Good folks like this have to go through this while so many pieces of trash have kids and discard them and/or abuse them etc.. No rhyme or reason to it at all.

two of the sweetest people ive ever met Lost their 11 year old daughter to cancer this year , and she was only diagnosed 6 months before.. Received the best care and at one point was in remission.. Yet poof.. shes gone.

I dont know .. I wish i had better things to say. Jarrod will be in my prayers, as flawed as i am , i take time to meditate and talk to the lord about things like this , because i am flawed. Something in me wants to understand things like this.

Godspeed Jarrod....I Pray that the number of cancer cells decreases everyday and that your life is shown a new purpose that clearly carries your time here well into old age.

I guarantee that the only thing Jarrod ISN'T thinking about right now is himself and his fate. His pain right now is for his girls. The best we can do is to lift him up to really confirm for them how much love and admiration there is in the community for their brave father. It's going to be very difficult for them but that will go a long way. I'm sure that he's emotionally prepared for whatever the future holds for him. That's what happens....

Thanks for posting imakaveli. That is such a great video. The guy looks like a big kid on the best ever Christmas. Such a burst of genuine surprise and joy.

I remember when he made his comeback in 2013 during the Australian summer at the Aus Masters. He had tears in his eyes on the 1st teebox. It was a great moment back then, but made more heatbreaking by recent news. Hopefully he can get some quality time in with his family and friends. He's played a great round.

Can't help the tears! I've always rooted for this gentle giant...

I have three daughters and can't imagine EVER leaving them behind. You always want to be there for them and Jarrod won't get that chance. I had colon cancer at age 32, Stage I, so it was caught really early. If I had ignored the symptoms who knows where I'd be today.

May he find peace. And may his family find the strength to carry on, cherishing all the memories they have of Jarrod!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
