Sadly, all I can offer is prayers and best wishes. I praise Mr. Allenby for his commitment to his friend and the children. While I struggle to believe and the inner child in me screams for belief, it's just so difficult to understand the ways that the Almighty Father (if you are so inclined) sets forth unto this world. Now I am also a believer in the ways of nature, ie; a balance that for every sickness, there is a cure and history has shown this to be true. Now this may sound crazy to some, but I also believe that science has a cure for cancer, but it's such a huge multi billion dollar business, that they won't let it surface. I know some of the arguments against this, like even doctors get cancer and die, but it's not the doctors that have the cure, it's big pharma. For over 50+ years with untold amounts of money spent on R&D and only slight steps forward in the battle have arrived. They beat small pox, the plague, made major advancements against HIV-Aids, even progressed against Ebola but barely a dent against cancer. Folks will believe what they will, but somewhere along the line, you have to ask the question, are we being deceived for big profits or is cancer really that strong. They say that the cancer gene is within everybody. Seems simple to my laymen s thought process, find a way to remove that gene, but perhaps they already have......................

The irony of this is that there probably is a cure for his Leukemia but after you've been in treatment for so long and they've given you so many drugs that your body can't handle the cure anymore. Even the mildest chemo absolutely ravages your general health and many of the current "cures" will only be given to patients who haven't been treated for long because either it won't work, or it will kill them. It's terribly frustrating and sad. He's not done yet though. I'm hoping that if his body gets a break, that he can possibly gain enough strength to snap out of his current situation. Right now, his treatment has become the illness and he'll die from it if they continue with it. I faced the same problem (inoperable DN Melanoma) and for two years have been dealing with the supposed cure's side effects, which made me sicker than the disease...a bummer since the cure didn't work for me. That will probably never improve. Again, I'm still praying constantly for him and his family and have been trying to shepherd as many people as possible to social media to support the Lyles both emotionally and financially. What a nightmare....but the golf community is stepping up into the gap for their own...a beautiful thing.

I'm sad to report that Jarrod has taken a turn for the worse and has slipped into a coma. If this is it, that's the best possible way to go without any further pain or suffering. That part will be left up to the family he leaves behind. This is too sad to even comprehend. We will continue to pray to the end for his comfort and peace, knowing that the Lord is waiting to greet him. Please don't forget about the family he's leaving behind. Together, we can make a big difference in their lives if we all give whatever you're comfortable with. It adds up quickly and every bit will cushion the blow after the grieving. Godspeed Jarrod. It's been great...better for us than you.

Short of a miracle healing, slipping into a coma is the best thing for Jarrod...he'll no longer feel any pain or discomfort until he passes.

Hug your kids. Kiss your wife. Live every day to the fullest. Work to provide for your family, but dont let work consume your life. Make sure that when the time comes when you leave this place, you can be like Jarrod and have no regrets.

Godspeed to Jarrod and his family. May the Lord comfort them in this time of sorrow.

If you haven't, please go read this letter Allenby penned for the Player's Tribune (originally linked on Page 3). Had to be one of the hardest things he's ever done and is incredibly powerful.

Yeah, its great stuff. For those have given Rob s*** over the years because he has been an idiot more than once, hopefully you can now see he is just like the rest of us off the field, and has a massive heart and is a great person deep down. This article shows the true Rob Allenby, that's all you really need to know

Heartbreaking news. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Sands in Torquay. Ended up watching the final innings of the Cubs winning the WS with him and the pro there. A wonderful, down to earth guy.

Great to see the outpouring of support from his fellow competitors. I emailed Titleist in Australia recently, asking to sell the yellow bucket hat. Nothing from them at all. Disappointing.

Heartbreaking. I'm glad that whatever force out there has had the mercy to take you off to sleep. RIP. The hole you've left will be evidenced by how difficult your peers find it to play this trivial game on a dreadfully sad day for golf and humanity. Thoughts obviously for family and friends too. It's a terrible thing to go through at any age.
