Another hypothetical-solheim cup style.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the Solheim cup, and I'm fully aware of these women's skills. But..... My brother and I, who are both between 12 and 15 hcp think we could beat any pairing in match play if we were allowed to tee off from the same tees and play a scramble vs their alternate shot. My other brother tells us we are crazy. How wing are we?

They make it to the 12th hole easy.

A) it's not a scramble it's a best ball, VERY big difference.

 

B) Lincicome just went 9 under with an eagle and birdie from her partner and they only won by 1 (maybe 2).

 

C) Just because you move up a tee doesn't mean the game is easier. You still have to hit the shots. Try it one day and see what you shoot, I imagine it will be within your standard range. I set up our course for a LPGA qualifier the other day and not all holes they played were up. The LPGA gave us the yardages to use and they were a mix of blacks, blues and whites. The only red they used was on a par 5 that is 620 from the blues, 593 from the whites and 570 from the reds.

Why in all that is holy does your club have a 570 par 5 from the red tees? Most women won't cover that yardage in 5 full swings. Must be a blast on Tuesday's, probably takes an hour for them to play that hole.

Ladies is 490 and we generally use the 460 box. We set it up to our discretion. Nothing wrong with a true 3 shot par 5, imo. We have 6 tee boxes. And during the qualifying tournament 2 girls were about 30 yards short going driver 3 wood.

 

Also the only person I have ever seen reach it in 2 was a girl. From the front of the blue box so just under 580. Also the there is a downhill 2nd that if you land it about 100 yards you'll get 60 or so of roll

 

It's also a very highly regarded local course.

I currently playing awful (for my self) and would say im currently off 5-8. I would say that even of i was back to 2-0 range and play their tees. Even with my length om still getting waxed by these ladies by at least 5 shots.

 

I have caddied on the Symetra i was shocked how good these girls are. My bag worst wedge shot was 15 feet and that was a greenside chip.

If you haven't seen the ladies in person their golf can be very deceiving. It is also an honest question, maybe a little delusional but honest. Is a snarky remark like that really making this forum a better place?

eeh. I have seen the women in person and my opinion is a post like this is acenine. 12-15 cappers against pros. Gets annoying that middle level golfers make comments about how they think they can hang with pro players. I don't want to here this oh its scramble vs best ball either. Not even close

Super wing.

12-15 hdcp don't putt that well, or consistently at least. Match play depends a lot on clutch putting.

Driving the ball in play will also be a problem for you guys on multiple holes. The pressure to find the fairway, when your partner didn't won't play well for 12-15 hdcp.

So I feel your team would be spotting them six holes, the other twelve you'd have a shot playing a scramble versus their alternate shot.
