I started playing in 1963. My first full set were Slazenger Plus. I replaced them in 1985 with Lynx USA irons and MacGregor woods. Since then I've had Never Compromise and Yes putters. All great clubs. My pro has now started stocking Lynx clubs. The Drivers look really good.

Are Never Compromise putters still made?

 

I still have an original Voodoo from around 2002 or 03. Gift from my wife for our anniversary so not going to part with it. Don't recall seeing too many of them around anymore.

 

Never Compromise bought out by SRI/Dunlop (Srixon/Cleveland/XXIO). They stop making Never Compromise a couple of years ago to allow Cleveland to have part of their focus on Putters!

I had two of the f2 wedges and managed to sell them for $80 for the set not that long ago. There must still be a demand for them or something. They didn't work for me and were really heavy. Was glad to part with them for that much.

Adams was the only one that really hurt. Many others already stated Tad Moore, Cubic Balance, Snake Eyes (those Smith and Wesson forged blades just amazing), Wright Golf, Japanese firms pulling out of the US market, Punch golf, and the graveyard goes on and on. . .

How about Atrigon? They came out with a one piece Graphite driver that the shaft and head were all one piece. They signed Nick Price and went out of business before they even got to market.

 

Kunnan is another one that had a similar one piece driver and sold some descent lower end stuff.

Can't believe both Never Compromise and Yes! putter brands haven't been resurrected by their respective owners. Having a separate brand for your line of putters has worked well for Titleist (Scotty) and Callaway (Odyssey & now Toulon).

 

Do TM own the rights to Yes! after they bought adams?

 

Atrigon and Goldwin were 2 different companies. Goldwin originally made some really high quality milled aluminum woods but went downhill with their adoption of the AVDP system which was very head heavy and never took off.

About 15 years ago there was a golf shoe company that was named something like "Bionic"... I may not gotten it correct, and can't find them online. They were "spikeless" and the soles were over sized, and they were awesome. Then one day *poof* they were gone

Stan Thompson- when I was a kid, my teacher was on their staff. He even played mini-tours with a Stan Thompson staff bag....he must have been their only staff touring pro. They made a beautiful pear-shaped driver head.

Wow do these photos bring back memories. I played Powerbilt Citation irons, first the ladies model at about the age of 13 (1982) and then upgraded to the mens model when I was about 15 (1984 or so). they were my first full set of irons, P through 2 iron.

 

Before that, I played a "junior" set: D, 3W, 5W, 5i, 7i, 9i, putter. (laminated woods, blade irons, no wedges!)

 

I'm sure many here remember those days and those clubs!
