How about the Austad's house brand - the Senator? I'll never forget those old metalwoods with the giant plastic insert in the back. Wish I could find a pic. When I was little, I used to love looking at dad's Austad's catalogs.

I was just going to post Austad's. I was searching this thread to find it.

Porsche design. Saw a set of blades and they were really nice. Actually had a 9* with Brunswick wirld class eagle 7.0 I bought for cheap kicks. Looked like a 975D. I tried 4 hits with it and I think they maybe got 10' off the ground.

I had that Fenwick World Class Eagle 6.0 shaft in a 9* Great Big Bertha (original) at 45.5" long, and it was a FANTASTIC stick. That combo plus Maxfli Revolution 90 golf balls was a magical combination.

I'd buy that shaft again if it were available.

Continental golf still has a few of them NOS.

Yamaha and Powerbilt

Both still in business making clubs though P/B is probably owned by someone other than Hillerich & Bradsby like they were..dunno. I wanted a set of those Citations so badly when I was a kid that I got myself a nice set on eBay a few years back. I play them occasionally and I love the shape of the blades. Those were the days when every OEM (Wilson, Spalding, MacGregor, PowerBilt, Ram, Maxfli, Haig, Royal, Golfcraft, etc. all had their signature, proprietary shape. These days, behind the ball, they all look pretty similar.

Don't think anyone mentioned Royal golf. I played the Royal Plus 6 ball way back in the day and they had irons and woods as well. Made by Uniroyal as I recall.

Joe Powell Golf

I just picked up a set (2-SW) of Joe Powell cavity back, forged irons that closely resemble Hogan Edge irons from the late '80s/early '90s. They are super clean and like new. It's truly amazing what people donate to Goodwill.

I had those.... John built them for me at the factory

What was the name of the driver company from 15 years or so ago that had the driver with the big hole in the bottom of it?

Not an actual hole but a concave circular area...

Austad's doesn't do the catalog or their in house brand anymore, but the company still exists and they are headquartered in my town. They still have a handful of retail store locations and an online presence.

My first set as a kid was a Jr. Senator set that had something like a wood, 3 irons and putter or something like that. Also had a sweet blue/white golf bag and wood cover.

Are you saying they were "custom" built for you based on a fit?

If Ken hasn't sold them, mine are at Golf Mart in Paducah

But, yes, I visited the factory multiple times in Sarasota. John custom spec'd my CB set, then another PGI set a few years later. Joe talked with me numerous times at the factory. They use to assemble cally fairways at one point in the late 80/early 90 as well, if my memory isn't fading. I can't say enough good about Joe Powell & John.... Just good folks all around

Radius putters.

I have bought one recently (and sold it to my colleague before delivery and bought a Byron dh89 but this is another story).

I have been trying the stick last week and although I’m a beginner and not the most qualified person, it performed quite good on the 18 I have been playing.

Anyhow, looking for some recent news about the company it looks they don’t update any media since long time

Funnily enough, took delivery of a Radius #8 putter yesterday. They have been selling off the whole range of Classic putters at Clubhouse Golf in the UK at £49.99 as part of Black Friday promo. I have had my eye on these for a while - the RRP was £199.99 but they had been reduced to £99.99 recently. The website is still functioning http://www.radiusputters.com/ but I am not sure whether this sell off indicates that they are struggling or not.

The putter, by the way, based on carpet putting last night, feels fantastic and the finish is first class. The headcover also looks good and I think it will stay on which is often a problem for blade putters.

I cleaned mine up yesterday and they truly are "like" new. The faces are super clean and the shaft bands look new. Do you know how many years they made this CB iron?

I think Nickent would have done some amazing stuff if they were still around. They seemed to push the envelope.
