That's my work browser, not phone.

 

My phone is currently in metric and I thought the accounts were linked. The phone is odd. . .if you go metric, the temp is celsius, but the wind and rain are still imperial but pressure is still metric. So, they measure rain in inches, but not barometric pressure. On the website, they all change together.

Short Version: I have Hodgkin's Lymphoma (Like Mario, coincidentally)

 

Thought I had mono after the wedding. Turns out it was this. Had a bunch of the symptoms that eventually all went away but a lymph node in my neck that never returned to normal. Couple scans and a couple of biopsies later turns out I've got this. Have known since the beginning of May, but finally all the testing was finished this week. Scheduled with one oncologist now, trying to get another one sooner so we can get on with treatment and then my wife and I can get on with the rest of our lives. Lots of good doctors in DC.

 

Anyway, a preemptive "thanks" for any well wishes. I'll share when there's stuff to share, but otherwise will go forward like nothing's happening.

Absolutely gut punched to read about Anthony Bourdain this morning, just crushed. As most of you know I watch/listen to a lot of cooking/food shows and I've been following him for almost 20 years. Just....wow. Cant believe it.

 

Whatever kind of issues you are going through at home, please know that there are always people you can reach out to talk to. Financial issues, home issues, work issues, relationships - whatever it is, there's a good chance one of us has been through it.

My wife got treated for her breast cancer at GW medical center. The doctors there are really good technically, although maybe not as good at the bed-side manner. But then she's kind of particular about that. She changes doctors because of how they interact with her whereas I just do not GAF.

Domes told me this a couple weeks ago, and mentioned he was going to tell people wider when he felt like it.

 

The only timing that could have been more hilarious was if he'd done it like 1 minute after the game last night.

Dammit man, so sorry to hear this. Medicine is amazing these days so I'm confident the docs will fix you right up. I'm a cancer survivor (20 years this fall) and have had a front row seat watching one of my best friends deal with one of his 3 year old twins battling Leukemia. This is a good area to be in with some of the best doctors around. Thanks for sharing and we're all rooting for you to kick cancer's a**.
