Cobra's new King F8 drivers, woods, hybrids and irons

Really torn between the F8+ and Ping G400 LST. Might have to get both like any good wrxer would do. I'm still playing my bio cell+. I've tried to kick it out, but I always end up going back to it and then selling the other drivers.

 

I’m in the same boat! Hit the Ping G400 and really liked it!

Me too. But I love my LTD and I’m blindly hoping I love the F8+. Surely my cognitive dissonance will ensure I love my F8+ too.

Miss the old ones and want to get them back in the bag but, if they have a new black irons on the way... I'll gladly hold off

Incredibly good club. Does very good on off-center hits.

 

I intend on ordering one of these and playing it for 2018. The black crown looks really good at address and not as busy as it seems w/ the online photos.

 

NV Green isn't for me - but I can see this club w/ a Hzrdus T1100 being an absolute bomber.

IMO it feels hotter/livelier off the face than LTD Pro.

 

A 65gr stiff NV Green is a long ways from optimal for me, but the club still performed great and hit it out where my 2016 M2 and G400 do.

 

I think off center hits a where this club helps a lot - I caught a few low and toe side and they still produced tight draws with no harsh feeling.

looks like there is only one colour option for the fairways, is that correct? Driver comes in grey/black and black/black, but fairway only in grey/black

 

I'm not a fan of the look on top, and given that it is just polymer I wonder if continental golf could refinish in a smooth black for both driver and fairways?

 

look again at website. f8 fairway comes in both. f8 plus only in nardo.

Nardo in the f8+ fairway looks good in my opinion and I prefer black woods

The hybrid felt great. I couldn’t, for the life of me, hit the 3 or the driver no matter my effort. I maybe caught the driver pure 5 out of 10 times. It was quite impressive those 5 times matching my Epic SZ numbers and then some maybe but, when it was bad, it was BADDD.

 

Not a deterrent. This is a great set. I, personally, will stick with my f7 and hybrid with the bafflers. They’re doing great so far!

Is the F8/F8+ compatible with the LTD adapter? Would love to be able to keep my current shaft and try out something new as well ...

Well I’ve preordered the F8 plus driver in nardo and the F8 fairway wood in nardo...haven’t hit either but hey my driver is 10 years old so no matter what it should be an improvement

Anybody know if Cobra can alter the SW for you? I'm thinking about also getting the hybrid and I see it's at D0 which is going to be a little too light for my liking. To get it to D2 or D3 where I like.. That's a ton of lead tape. Even more so because I usually add 3 or 4 layers or tape which sometimes makes the head feel a touch lighter (could be placebo though).

Not necessarily. Depends on the shaft mainly. I think very few will be playing the F8+. I play the F7+ and I hit the F8+ and it felt like a very difficult driver to hit. If I had to guess I would be in an F8, but I didn't like the feel of it so will be sticking with my current.

Never mind, Cobra answered back really fast. In case anybody is interested, they told me they hot melt to SW as best they can and to contact customer service to generate a ticket # and to reference that # in your custom options area.

 

Depending if the IRS is good to me this tax season I may very well end up with the 4H in addition to the 3w.

Well I play an r7 limited with the random stock shaft in it. It is also a 440cc head, and when it came out I believe it was a more "players" driver as well. I'm usually in the 70's with my driver *usually* being a strong point

I would think they would have to stay with the same finish as the MB/CB. I dare say it is the best black finish on the market. Dont screw up a good formula.
