So, after getting 5 hours of coverage a day at the Players, not to mention the around the clock "Live at the Players" gabfest, the LPGA gets a whole two hours each day. Pffffftttttt.

The weather forecast looks poor, with showers and thunderstorms Thursday through Sunday. Hopefully it won't be a repeat of Texas. Luckily the wind speeds look fairly calm.

I'm going to go with Lexi this week. She's due for a good tournament, and she seems to play well here. Minjee is in solid form, and should contend as well.

Let's hope it is not a repeat of the disaster that the VOA event turned out to be in terms of being a weather-plagued event. It is really hard for the players to get themselves into peak playing condition with the US Women's Open later this month when there are so many delays, interruptions and a general lack of competitive playing rounds.

Regardless, if the weather holds, then I suspect that a player like Brittany Lincicombe could do well here and get her year on track. I think the same could also be said of Danielle Kang too.

So Yeon Ryu is in the field again this week, and she has been quietly working on her game in preparation for the US Women's Open -- so I could see her being on the first page of the leaderboard come Sunday -- if the event makes it that far. :-( I think her overall game is starting to peak and her putting and ability to hit greens will be a big plus.

On another note, given the streaky nature of Brooke Henderson's play this season, I could see her also be in contention after having two mediocre rounds and coming off of an "off-week". She is having a very good year in terms of her driving (both distance and accuracy) this season, and if she can keep hitting greens and warm her putter up, and get her putts per green/putts per round down this week, she could just pop off another victory.

It's nearly impossible to pick a winner on any given week.

But considering the LOUSY forecast....ya gotta determine who is the LPGA "Mudder" (eg. horse racing).

Which LPGA pro is mentally tough that the many expected rain delays and playing in the rain with rain gear......might not bother them much.

Are there 3 pros playing this week that can be considered "Mudders"?

2 hours of coverage is such a joke with 60 minutes of commercials and the 20-30 minutes of useless banter and discussion we'll be lucky to see 30 minutes of actual golf;

Also not happy the US supreme Court legalized sports betting in the US, this means they will probably pay attention to LPGA golf now and not have people who have no clue what they are doing setting the lines and robbing me of my lucrative weekly LPGA match-up bets, most weeks it's like stealing lol

I don't think Mi Hyang Lee would appreciate that you cannot spell her name correctly. :taunt:

I wonder if she still using Cheeseburger Chad as her loop?

The pairings

http://www.lpga.com/tournaments/kingsmill-championship/pairings

The LPGA just doesn't get it...they only got 2/3 of the equation correct.

Danielle Kang is paired with Stacy...but the key to that group is Mi Hyang Lee.

I'm still waiting for Argonne to find the video clip from the CME where Stacy had a few choice words for MHL...I wish we could have picked up the audio...talk about K-Drama.

A great bombers and WRX 320 yards long pairinggroup are Bam Bam, Lexi and Angel Yin...Angel is so funny...too bad she's playing awful this year.

I know you'll never say anything about MHL...and I like her OK....but MHL seems like a bit of a drama queen...she goes through a lot of caddies and Tina isn't even her mom. :taunt:

Actually many LPGA pros....especially some mid or journeywomen pros go through many caddies....and the gals know they can dish out the abuse because many of the journeymen loops are kinda desperate to have a bag each week.

I was able to have some beers with a loop in 2013...he told me a mother was nickel and diming a loop that week with an offer and that Jennifer Johnson (where has she disappeared (injury??) basically had a different caddie each week.

Funny thing was that when I caddied for her, her dad was really into telling her what to do, I am an ex drill sergeant, so as boldly as I was I asked him (politely), to let us play and have fun, he never said anything again, even at the range, to this day she still laughs about it...she is not easy to caddy for, but not terrible either...we made the cut so she was happy...

So let me guess....of the above 6 pros playing this week....I think the easiest to loop for might have been Paula Reto?????

Danielle Kang is a drama queen too but she must be a riot to caddie for if you have a great personality that she enjoys...if you listen to some of her interviews on the internet...she can be quite mouthy, but in a good way...she must be a great trash talker and likely enjoys shaming any guys that plays in her group.

I think she can be quite moody too...so if she's not playing well you better know when to shut up.

I've chatted with her mom, Grace...she's really nice and funny too.

But the nicest parent I've chatted with is Dave Hull...Charley's dad...super approachable guy....he's the anti-BJ Wie.....basically let's Charley make all her golf decisions on her own.

The most polite and quiet group this week goes to In gee, Moriya and Brooke. Shy smiles and pleasantries will be the order of the day with these gals. No worries if F-bombs and screaming at the ball is your thing, Christy Kerr is only a couple groups ahead :taunt:

LMAO

Candidate for post of the year.

I've never witnessed it....and isn't everything on the internet true???....I've seen posts from spectators that have seen Cristie yell at tournament volunteers, staff, etc

I've seen it. It's hilarious to be honest. But she knows when the camera is present and will shut it off quick. She's not trying to get fined. :)

She can run hot for sure, but she's generally good natured with the fans. It's all about the marketing.

I prefer the dirty talk. :slow_en:

Tommy...what gives?...no mention of your gal....Paula......especially considering she's single and looking....I can see her with Denzel V2.

But you'll need a good lawyer to look over the pre-nup she'll put in front of you.

We always hear about the bad stuff, but she was in the pro-am group behind me today and we hit a backup so she was on the tee box at the same time as we were. She recognized the forecaddie from the first tee program that was walking in my group and approached him, called him by name and had a nice little chat. found out he was the forecaddie for her group 2 years ago.

This and the Shoprite seem the most quintessentially LPGA tournaments out there.

If the weather here in Northern VA is any indication, it's going to be a show in Williamsburg. It was heavy, heavy rain up here and they have the same system going through there. It's supposed to rain all weekend.

I love this tournament. Used to to play there occasionally. Went the the pga tour stop when it was there and the first lpga event there. Prefer the lpga to the pga. Completely different games... pga was bomb and gouge where lpga was more about precision, fairways and greens. Lpga women were much nicer as well.

Such a great golf resort. Add in Busch gardens next door and colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach down the road!!

Man Jessica Korda is just tearing it up this year. Here she is again right up toward the top.

Maybe the jaw reconstruction did more for her than we realized?

They mentioned during the broadcast that she used to be in pain all the time.

It's been a relief since her operations. She's finally playing like she could.
