I went yesterday. Followed Ricky for.the first 8 holes. He is long and hit a bomb on 2. He had maybe 5 or 6 iron in. Hit a couple of blistering tee shots with his driving iron.

 

He had some left misses though and his short irons we're pretty weak.

 

I heard a few tiger roars so I hung back to follow him. I was standing to the left of the tower on 8 when tiger sailed his second shot past the tower to the right. It looked like an impossible shot but he almost pulled it off.

 

It was a circus. Trying to follow him was ridiculous. We were packed like sardines in several places which magnified the heat. Ugh

 

He is really at a disadvantage to the field having to put up with that every day. He had a few weak right misses, the kind you don't see from someone that is on top of their game. He was pretty pissed when he flared an iron right off the tee on 13.

As far as the other big cat goes, he could be dangerous if he ever figures out how to hit driver. His iron game looked really solid yesterday, but he's hitting 54% of his fairways for the tournament. Molinari is hitting 74%.

As far as the other big cat goes, he could be dangerous if he ever figures out how to hit driver. His iron game looked really solid yesterday, but he's hitting 54% of his fairways for the tournament. Molinari is hitting 74%.

 

I think his driver is good enough, he does weird stuff is his problem. Like the holes he should birdie he doesn't. For instance that par 4 yesterday where he drove green and was just off the fringe, so easy birdie or even eagle but he does the unpredictable and hits the easy wedge 15 feet past the hole when he had been chipping and pitching wonderfully.

 

At memorial he hit it better than everyone, but he will hit his approaches to 4 feet and start missing all those. Its always something different that keeps him from winning when he should which means it's more a mental thing like Jack said.

If Tiger somehow pulls this out today it could be the start of something special... I have a personal interest in him winning so I am biased, +2900 biased.

Just in case real golf fans missed something, a couple of dudes got to 13 under, some punk had a 62 or something and another pleb had a 64, but the biggest talking point was what was tiger thinking about with that shirt and trouser combo

 

Tiger used to be a good dresser on the course. Now, he tends to dress like a high schooler.
