My half-set got delivered today and they look amazing. DBM Forged in 4/6/8/P bent to 8 degree gaps and a TSW DRM at 56.

I've always had an issue aligning the toe to the hosel of offset irons (my main set are Callaway XRs) and these aligned so easily at address.

Can't wait to get them to the range and have a golf weekend coming up next week... thinking 2 rounds with these and 2 with my main bag to compare.

Try using the front edge of the shaft as a reference for what you align the face with, instead of the front edge of the hosel.  This will give a cleaner visual that is a couple millimeters back closer to the leading edge of the face

I built my FIL an M890 4 Hybrid with R-Flex Launchtech shaft as a 70th birthday present. He’s a pretty good player but no longer has the speed for the stiff flex clubs he’s been playing. He loves the “flex-shaft hybrid” I made him despite my insistence that it’s just a regular flex shaft and there’s no funny business afoot. So now he’s asked me to build him a whole set of irons with those same shafts, and we decided on the KE4 Max heads. I’m very excited to get these built for him, as I feel like his game is much better than his current clubs are letting him demonstrate. The current plan is a dead-standard build with M890 launchtech shafts.

Anything I should be looking out for with this build? He’s not going to be sensitive to fractional swingweights and lives about 1500mi from me so I can’t dynamically fit him for weights, lies, etc..

Really enjoying the TS4 7i I built up. I am looking forward to building the rest of the set. I went 5-PW and I am hoping the gap between the PW and my 52* won't be too much. I will also be experimenting with a few different shafts before building the rest of the set.

My humble opinion... the gap wedges at 50 degrees in the Maltby irons are my favorites...    45.5 to 52 is a jump..

The rapport blue iron shafts look interesting. Anyone have any opinions or comments? Curious to know how they might compare to other graphite shafts.

I love them.  I used them in a set of KE4 Max irons and a hybrid.

I also love the Hzrdus Silver in my Paradym irons.

Anyone in this thread ever give the KE4 Max Milled putter a try? Looks very interesting. Considering a build with a 3in hosel + the heavy puretrack maltby shaft.

However the putter is not particularly cheap by Maltby standards, $160 for the head alone and about $250 including the hosel+shaft+grip. Can hardly find a single in-hand picture of it let alone any reviews. Maybe the expert himself @Popeye64 can fill me in?

If anyone from golfworks is reading this- I'd totally do a review video on youtube for a discount here, might help move some of these if people could see some in hand shots and a review. Just sayin 😉

In my opinion the Max Milled is too much money for the average club builder. I've never had one in hand.

I'll probably end up with the GW in the future when I rework my wedges. I currently play 52, 56 and 60 as it gaps well with the TS3 GW. If the 45.5 to 52 is too much I'll have to look into doing the TS4 GW to 54 and 58.

Your other option is to have the loft of the PW set to say 46.5 or 47*, to split the gap more evenly.  Lots of older sets used to have stock specs with 5* between the 9i and Pw, for that reason

That's a great idea, thanks for the tip!

Yeah, this is why a lot of players prefer an iron with about 2mm of offset, instead of no offset.  Looking down the front edge of the shaft, it has the leading edge of the face very close to that line.  Your adjusted DBM's should be ideal for this

KE4 MAX question

Has anyone blended in the 4/20 degree or 5/23 degree as a "crossover" iron?  Building them as a graphite iron, would give you the 1/2 inch over the same SW and lie angle (on paper).  Building them as a crossover as an example, the 23 degree to 39" (crossover/driving iron GW recommended length) would need the 2g weight and a possible lie adjustment to 60.5 (again, on paper).  If you have, mind sharing your recipe and results?

I ordered a 4i with Rapport shaft to use as a driving iron with my Paradym set.  I will mess with the weight as needed, but if it's anything like the rest of the set it'll be awesome for a fairway finding tee club.   I had the Core Blue shafts in my irons though, so it's just matching the set I had (that my friend has now, and I still love) so I didn't mess with lie angle, as it was GTG with the set I had.

Yeah it's a shame that they set the price point so high. Guess I'll be patient and hope for it to go on sale, which seems inevitable considering that they can't be selling a whole lot of them currently...

The Maltby milled blade putter I have is really, really nice for a lot less money.  I'm with you guys in being "priced out" of the running for one of those putter heads.

The PTM putters are definitely high quality but I've got enough milled putters around haha. The KE4 putter seems more along the lines of a TM spider or odyssey 10 putter, but currently the price point between the OEM options and the KE4 is negligible... lame

I played with a 45° PW to 52° GW for a few years. It worked for me because I almost never ended up with an in between yardage at my home course. Now I have a 45° PW, 50° GW, and 54°; this works much better IMO.

Anyone try the new Maltby KE4 TC Pro Adjustable Fairway Woods yet?  I'm pondering a 7w, and I get along with the MPF shafts in woods, so it would be inexpensive.

For reference, I get along pretty well with the 21* HyWay utility that is 7ish....

Anyone else notice they dropped the price on the ts4 and ts1 IM by 6 bucks a head? They’re now 53.99.

You must have a different account than I do, the only one that's down for me is the TS-3 @ $55 per.

Tour Edge Exotics:  Irons and Woods

Cleveland:  Wedges

Odyssey:  Putter

Yeah I'll try it out and see how it works and go from there. My 52 is probably my favorite club in my bag so it's tough to drop it.
