Meant to ask about this as I'm thinking about doing something similar. What shaft did you use for that and did you have to widen the inside diameter of the shaft or grind down the post to get it to fit correctly?

@Mako J I'm very interested too. I recently built the PTM-4 with an MPF Pro graphite shaft that seems to be pretty awesome so far. Now I'd like to build a PTM-5 with the same shaft and the 1" bent putter hosel. I'm guessing I'll have to cut the shaft down past the parallel tip section until I find a wide enough opening for the post insert? Another option is to use the 2.5" hosel with the .370 insert but I'm definitely not trying to add that much weight to the already heavy head.

I'd like to know how this was done as well.

Cheers!

Based on his nod to @Paintman (who looks to have used a black steel shaft), I am guessing this is just a painted white steel shaft. It's either the CT Tour in pearl white or maybe something from like Siege Shafts.

I am sorry for this rant.  A club is not more difficult to play based on the fact that it looks like a blade. The club that is best for you is the one that wants to be in your bag. The same with the shaft. Some clubs, for some unexplained reason, like you and your swing. Which one is it? Only you can find out. The people here can help point in the right direction, but you have to take the journey.

For me, and just for me, the TS4 is a wonderful club. Just so much fun. We get along great. The TS1-IM is just not into me. It is polite and treats me fine, but doesn't ask to go out. The TS4 jumps up and wags its tail when I say "wanna go hit balls?"

I know this isn't any help, but I feel better getting it off my chest. AZstu324 speaks the truth. Go with your heart.

Same here.

TS4 just makes me happy.

On paper probably not the ideal iron for me,  but out on the course it is exceptional.

I may have misunderstood him with the low CG, he could have said higher CG.     He was giving me a lot of information, and seemed a little annoyed that I wasn't purchasing anything that day.

I probably couldn't go wrong with the KE4 Max or STi2.   I saw pics of the TE+ V4 that were very nice.

Yes, I am leaning towards this option for sure.     the PGA store i had my fitting at, the email that was sent to me with my data, was corrupt.   So I have a free 30-45 minute session booked next week just to get some more numbers, to make a more informed decision.    Hopefully that pak is still around when I am ready to purchase.   Looks to be on sale for now.

I have a set of 6-GW Paradym irons that I love, but needed a long iron for a few par 3's since my hybrid game isn't great right now.  I went with the KE4 Max based upon how much I liked the irons when I had them and have zero regrets.  I have it with a Winn DryTac 2.0 grip and Rapport CoreBlue R shaft.  The KE4 Max is stupid easy to hit, and doesn't look like a shovel at address even though it's a little longer heel to toe than "players" irons.

I’ve only had range time so far with the TS4s, but they are an absolute joy to hit. Surprisingly good distance, great spin, solid amounts of forgiveness, and easy to control. I’m an 8 HCP FWIW.

As others have said, everyone matches up with certain types of irons differently, but don’t be intimidated by these unless you really use every part of the face.

A little winter project up here in the Northeast. Played last season with TS3's but couldn't pass up the TS1's on sale to give them a try.

5-GW, 2* flat, D3 with TT Elevate Tour 115 w/VSS Pro.

How does the TS4 vs TS1-IM perform distance wise? I know the lofts of the TS1-IM are slightly stronger but is there a significant difference? Also, how do off-center shots with both fair? I'm currently debating between these two sets.

Just did some trackman testing with my TS1-IM 7 iron, PW and GW and I am really happy with the results. Consistency of spin was great and the 7 iron is spinning where I want but I thought the PW/GW spin was a little bit low. In any event, I wasn't getting any low spin "hot" shots out of these except for maybe one PW shot that only spun 7830 but I don't think the contact was great on that one.

TBH, with the higher spin and slightly higher launch of the TS4, I'm seeing almost identical carry between the 2 but better stopping with the TS4. I've played a couple rounds with a split set. GW-7i TS4 and 6i-4i TS1-IM. I didn't notice any distance difference in between sets. I've also hit both pretty extensively on my Garmin R10. The only thing I've noticed is that distance loss is slightly better with the IM on off-center hits. Both still perfect ridiculously well though on misshits.

You really just need to figure out what trade off works best for your game. For me I'd take the slight distance loss on misshits for slightly better control on approach shots. Again, the differences are marginal.

I might want to look at the IMs then. I'm already getting around 8500-9000 RPM back spin with my 7i.
