Puma Shoes - 2019

Recommended Posts

$200, no buy.

I feel like everything is just getting way too expensive. Clothes, shoes, clubs, fees. It's never been a cheap sport, but I don't remember new pants costing $90 until the last few years. And $200 for shoes...it's cliche, but I've got a mouth to feed. And we could do a lot better at spending $200 than on some golf shoes.

Though I will say if you can swing it, go for it. I'm certainly not judging, since everyone's finances and priorities are totally different.

You are correct, sir! Might I add, however, that with the advent of the internet/online sales/outlet malls etc, I'd argue that if you spend a little time, stuff is actually cheaper in actual dollars (not inflation adjusted) than when I started playing back in 1987.

For example: got a set of Mizuno JPZ-EZ iron last year for $299 all in shipped...they even threw in a box of high end Bridgestones. My first set of irons, which I bought in NYC on 31st street off 5th Avenue...downstairs, were Spalding Centennials for the same price...I wanted Pings, but they were too pricey. Same with a Powerbilt Persimmon driver... $120 then, can easily find a used/demo 24 month old club for less than that.

Apparel is really easy...Adidas has sales a few times a year combined with 30% off making clothing 60-80% off MSRP. Have gotten steals at Costco...Peter Millar polo for $9.97 and more. Amazon too.

Oh, I'm a deal hunter by nature. I guess I'm more remarking on the MSRP of everything being exorbitant...not that I pay MSRP for much.

You are correct...particularly with equipment ($600 drivers...$400 putters)...I think manufacturers have finally caught on that, just like sunglasses companies, golfers are just as susceptible to "veblen goods" as women are to fashion (or men to wristwatches). For those unfamiliar with the term, it basically means demand increases as price increases...in other words, a Scotty putter wouldn't sell as well if it were $49.99...but at $399.99 or more it flies off the shelves!

UK based online shop that ships to US.

Free shipping if your order exceeded certain amount with exception of shoes (20£ extra each pair). Also allow you to collect points for each purchase that you can use for the next order or next 12 month period!

Excellent customer service, most of the time it will only take 3-4 days for your order to arrive from UK to US.

Even with the extra shipping cost their price is still better than any place I've come across!

Just got these in grey and the navy color to wear while practicing and caddying. Fit is awesome and so is their boa system.

can u feel the boa disc at all on the top of your foot? Want to try the boa but pretty sensory when it comes to that stuff if I would feel that disc pressing down. And also did u size down a half size? Heard these run a little long.

You definitely can feel the disc pressure on the Pwradapt model which is in the same location and is why I quit wearing them other then as a casual shoe and in that mode therei is no need to tighten the disc. Love the lace up Leather Pwradapt and that’s my go to golf shoe. Everyone’s foot is different but as much as I like the boa concept it was no bueno in golf mode.

Got my API PROADAPT today. It's been a while since I last wore any puma golf shoes, last pair was back in 2012's Super Fusion Ice LE.

The shoe is very comfortable and high quality, upper leather is supple, fit true to size. My only critique would be that the shoes are on the heavy side, you can see in the picture that compare to Nike Vapor React 2(one of the heavier Nike golf shoes), Puma @ 510g vs Nike @ 454g.

What is that tongue flap? Does it stick up when they are laced and tight?

They look great btw. Very sharp. I'll have a pair here soon.

No that’s just the “hang tag”. Just haven’t removed it yet.

They are fantastic, BTW.... three rounds in and they are the most comfortable AND the most stable of all the Titantours.

The Pwradapt is a super comfortable shoe but it just doesn't work for me

So good to hear. I hope to pick a pair up later in the year. And you don't think the new spikes will be an issue in the long run?

I have tried/bought/returned the following shoes in the last several weeks as I search for my next pair:

Footjoy DryJoy Tour

Ecco Hybrid Biom 3

Footjoy Pro SL

Adidas Tour360 (2.0 and XT)

G Fore Gallivanter Saddle (size 14)

G Fiore Gallivanter (size 15)

Puma Grip Fusion

Outside of the last pair, all were close to or even above $200 a pair.

So I wasn’t phased by the price in the least when I tried on the new Proadapt and immediately fell in love. I suppose the waterproof guarantee could be better but easy enough to buy a waterproof spray coating. At the end of the day fit, performance and looks are what matter and these have all three in spades. Didn’t like the black which was all they had in stock so they are on order but can’t wait to get them.

Anyone know if there is an actual difference in the shoe construction between the PROADAPT and the Titantour Ignite Premium Disc??? Other than the obvious (disc vs laces, and the toe stitching), the older TTIPD shoe appears identical to the new PROADAPT.
