Trying to find something for me to hit in my Cobra LTD head. I’m a bit of a problem at just over 43” playing length. They have Nothing pre made up in that length for me to try. Marshall is building a couple pieces for me to take to the range.

i mean...they SHOULD be able to find you something at a bit closer to regular length that fits you with regards to dispersion, spin and ballspeed...no? i mean, they have EVERY option available to them.

The Pro iron shafts are great! I’m currently using the 95i in my 3 and 4 irons. They had some built up for us to hit.

We’re headed to lunch and then tee times starting at 1:30 Cali time.

 

I ended up with a Speeder 857 TR in X flex a little less than 35”. The CPM on my Gamer was 308, and the 857 TR came out to 300. I really liked the feel of the Ventus, and I had good numbers with it, the the 857 TR felt more familiar and my balls stayed a little better online with it. Now to see how they work on the course!

However, its nice to see the regular posters in the past ATMOS review thread SCORING - enjoy the experience

As for me, I am with the Ventus already but this time, I ended with the 6-S instead of the 6X in my ATMOS.

Overall, I really feel it is an NICE improvement to the ATMOS I have and it was so much fun to compare them side by side with the same Epic Flash SubZero head. Ventus is very much tighter dispersion. It's very clear, just look at the face hits with the range balls. In play, my misses have noticeably less, even BETTER than my ATMOS.

It was a great round of golf. Johnny and Brian from WRX are top notch. All the people from Fuji I have met are amazingly knowledgeable and love the game of golf and want everyone to play better.

 

I shot a solid round of 80. This only being my second round of the year on windy and challenging course. Lots of elevation changes, hilly lies and and distracting visuals. I drove the ball well all day but on the back the ventus and I had become good friends and I hit some really amazing drives with it.

 

What I love most about the driver is it has an amazing feel. It is not boardy, and has an great feeling of loading that I was able to hold through impact. I could feel it all the way into the ball. I tend to launch the ball a bit low, and the ventus brought my launch up 3-4 degrees without adding any spin. The tip in this shaft is super stiff and keeps the spin down, but over all it is a mid launch shaft.

 

I played mine in a 7X, cut to a playing length of just over 45 inches. Down from 45 and a half before. But even getting shorter, I again increased launch 3-4 degrees, picked up 12 yards carry, and the dispersion on missed tightened dramatically.

 

I was swinging this at 125 MPH average, and it never felt loose, or uncontrollable. I was in the low 2000s spin and had a couple GCquad drives in the 180 ball speeds. It all translates to the course very well. I felt I could pick my target make a swing and I was golden. I being human hit a few bad drives, there was a duck hook or two in there. But that was me, you can’t ever expect a price of equipment to totally override a bad swing.

Today was an awesome day. We spent the first half of the day at Fujikura HQ. We started the day with some coffee/bagels and a breakdown of their catalog of wood shaft offerings. From there we moved to the fitting bay and Marshall went one by one getting us all set up. We warmed up with some iron shots with the Fuji Pro Tour Spec 95. Marshall tested the specs on our current gamer while he was asking us all kinds of questions about our games, our preferred shot shapes, our weight/length/flex preferences. We hit some shots with our gamers to get a baseline then he started switching out shafts with Fujikura options. The fitting process was great, and Marshall is just an all-around good dude. From there we left for lunch and a round of golf with all of the WRXers, Brian and Johnny from WRX, and a few guys from Fujikura. I got paired up with Jake (Endy), Chad Embree (Sales Manager), and Eric Recher (Director of Marketing). Chad and I played a match against Jake and Eric (both solid sticks). Jake and Eric closed us out on 17. We had dinner with the whole group plus another few guys from Fujikura including the President and Vice President. The whole Fujikura group is just an awesome group of guys. We squeezed a lot into today, and we are all worn out, but we have another half day at Fujikura tomorrow before we start heading to the airport for our flights out.
