New Mizuno irons coming - Tour Proto Pics

This is why I’m happy to be ambidextrous and limited by nothing. Been a while since I played a mixed left/right bag, but might be time to do so again.

Mizuno is known for butter feeling blades with higher than most MOI. Even if there wasn’t a fitting head, you won’t be disappointed with a Mizzy.

Everyone’s mileage varies but for me, I’ve tried to like Titleist irons and they just don’t feel the same for me. The AP’s felt horrible ??

I really can not wait to see how the HMB compares to the MB in size. I need some side by sides of the PW and 6 iron. I'm thinking a 2, 4, and 5 HMB. 6-pw MB will be the way i want to go. Ofcourse i need to see them in person... but na, I'll just preorder!! Pictures will be able to help enough!

We're all born right-handed. Some of us are able to overcome that deficiency.

SELs look like a decent mix. I've had numerous Mizuno sets over the years: 32s, 68s, 53s and 54s. All are fine. Not sure what the whinging is all about for lefties but it doesn't make much difference when it comes to scoring for real. They all perform similar to the righty offerings.

So you guys play straight blades 2-PW or 3-PW? That's tour level ball striking especially in 2019 when the least amount of guys in tour history play straight blades. Or are you just traditionalists because you might as well play older blades at that point. Get on the phone and dial Keopka's number and call him a *****. He plays JPX like a little school girl. Almost all the guys in here talking about combo sets are going 5i or 6i in MMC or HMB. I need to see all these straight blade orders from the guys gunning for club champion.

I should've clarified. I'm a lefty and what Mizuno has put out for lefties over the years is fine. No complaints. Getting the SELs just seems like a decent response from Mizuno. The whinging comment was referring to the righties going off about us, not about comments coming from the lefties.

Honestly, I order the full set because it depends on the rhythm that day. Some days I know the 2&3 will be a liability and I will add something else more suitable to the course and my game. As well, even if I don’t use the 2&3 for full shots I use them a ton in and around the greens or if I find myself in jail and need to work something out of the trees.

Golf is more than full shots. You don’t need to be Koepka to find a 2-iron useful.

Didn't big cat test Mizuno before signing with TMADE. I wonder if they drew inspiration to release this design again.

I believe Voshall said Mizuno sent him some irons to test and Tiger's caddy said he had everything in his house from every manufacturer. In the end I bet it came down to who would offer the most to Tiger. When majority of off contract pros are playing Mizuno irons, probably a good indicator they are the cream of the crop, so I just find it hard to believe he thought Taylormade was superior to Mizuno.

yea, Tiger is a business man. Taylormade makes more sense $$$ wise and they also make good drivers.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind why the bounce numbers are so low? Apparently that’s a Mizuno thing that I never realized.

You alright there buddy? The complaint was that they don’t make a set for lefties. Mizuno - who specializes in blades and almost blades - is making such a set for lefties. I don’t get what the big deal is. I made no comment about my own abilities or those of Brooks Koepka.

Edit - that’s a reply to Bombdrop in case that’s not clear.

Target player is slightly more skilled, and doesn't dig down as much.

Even more interesting that the ping blueprint blades have a ton of bounce. Could be why people have been finding them easier to hit.

Edit: Im not sure that this is the reason, since the 919 forged have the exact same bounce numbers. It’s just a Mizuno thing but idk why

Yeah, but they don’t touch the MP18’s in terms of feel, performance, and price. Just not used to Ping offering such a product to the masses. I love my iBlades, but when I move on Mizuno will be in the running as always.

I just wish we’d get a forged wedge with the copper underlay.

Gotta say, I've been playing the full set of MP18 MB's this past year and I've been wanting more height out of my 4/5 irons.... if that's what you should be thinking about when choosing HMB/MMC I would probably go the HMB route. Especially after how that address picture looks.

EDIT: Also, I asked golfnation for a PW address pic but got the 7i instead.
