Lets just say when I go back Dornoch is on the itinerary. On top of that, the membership at both were wonderful, very inviting.

Dornoch will be on my itinerary anytime over there. It was the best course I played. (Dornoch, K Barns, C Stuart, Nairn, Old Course, Jubilee) were the ones I played last year.2c2kn94ivgx5.jpg

13 Things About the Claret Jug.

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/british-open-2019-13-things-you-might-not-know-about-the-history-of-the-claret-jug

My favorite item is, of course, Tom Watson's. Wins it in 1982, they mistakenly give him the original, he damages it, fixes it and then wins the tournament again in 1983.

I noticed that Kevin Na isn't playing in the Open but is playing the next week in the WGC.

He was listed as an injury. He withdrew from the John Deere with it. He can wait until next week to withdraw from Memphis if needed.

Got it. I just saw that he was still listed for Memphis.

Probably a good bet that he does better than Rory, given the huge expectations for Rory, and by Rory, given it's Northern Ireland.

So a "syndrome" = smart money management. Understood.

[This survey](https://www.forbes.com/sites/lealane/2019/05/02/percentage-of-americans-who-never-traveled-beyond-the-state-where-they-were-born-a-surprise/#440496512898 "This survey") might help the debate along...

-- Eleven percent of survey respondents have never traveled outside of the state where they were born.

-- Over half of those surveyed (54 percent) say they’ve visited 10 states or fewer.

-- As many as 13 percent say they have never flown in an airplane.

-- Forty percent of those questioned said they’ve never left the country.

However:

In fact, survey results showed 76 percent of the respondents wanted to travel more than they do currently. The reasons they gave for why they don't are what you would expect: mainly due to a lack of finances or just feeling unprepared and ill-equipped to venture forth into unknown territory.

Because he either misses the cut, skips it, or finishes poorly... probably saw the extended forecast and decided to give it a miss, which is fair enough, gives someone else a shot.

CHIII is a cheque collector, who's made a heckuva living out of golf, but his record clearly points to someone that doesn't have the mettle for major championship golf.

The weather is certainly a reason not to go. But Hoch did play in several British Opens particularly later when the R&A boosted their purses. So I'm sure money was a big part of his mindset early on. Nothing wrong with that either.

In other words he was a wimp, which is probably why he blew the Masters too.

Can you blame him, lol. Nothing worse than pompous europeans who look down their nose at Americans based solely what they see on the television.

You have to be seriously deluded to think that pros like Scott Hoch had some "duty" to play the British Open, which had smaller purses than several PGA Tour events. The event was also run by imbeciles who put a parking lot 5 steps off the 16th fairway at Lytham. You think U.S. pros didn't notice absurd things like that?

think GC showed an irish breakfast on a segment earlier today ... 3 types of bread - potato/pancake & a big biscuit thing, sausage & bacon, eggs & beans ...
