I'm an insurance agent and clubs are typically covered.

Deductible might be an issue depending on how much your clubs are worth though. If you have older/less expensive clubs it might not make financial sense to turn in a claim if you have a $1,000 deductible (common Homeowner's deductible in my area).

My dad had his clubs stolen out of his car while he was parked adjacent to the golf course. It was a par 3 course so only his Driver, 3 Wood, and 4 Wood were stolen.

Another time we left our clubs in the car parked outside of our condo and the back window was smashed and both of our bags were stolen. That really sucked, and clubs are never left in the car anymore.

Both times in San Diego, and it really sucks to know that you were literalially sleeping 20 feet above your clubs when some (expletive)s decide to steal your stuff.

None of it was covered by auto or renter's insurance to my knowledge. It really sucked.

Ask someone for a pxg receipt and make a claim to your homeowners. Sure, it’s insurance fraud, but only if you get caught. I’m a lawyer btw, as if you couldn’t tell from the lack of morality.

In reality, sorry to hear about this... have had relatively little stolen despite living and working near some tough areas.

Totally agree. Sorry to hear about that but I've never had my clubs stolen in my 19 years of playing this game. I usually keep my clubs inside my house or my hotel room when I'm on the road. If I have no choice but to leave my clubs in my car (my car is a hatchback so I have no trunk), I would cover my clubs with an old bedsheet with elasticized corners for a quick and snug fit. I keep the bedsheet in my car at all times for that reason.

Had this happen to someone I know recently. It sucks to lug your clubs back and forth but IMO it's a small price to pay to know that I won't walk out one day and have them be gone.

Oddly enough, my car was broken into at my old apartment. They grabbed my drone, which was tucked under the seat. They didn’t care to check the trunk area of the suv. My GoPro clubs and Jordan golf shoes were fine. This was in a “locked” parking lot too

Sorry to hear that. It gives you a violated feeling. I had some stuff stolen from my truck while parked in my carport a few years ago. My clubs were on the back floorboard and they didn't touch them. They were hitting cars that were unlocked in the neighborhood. The police here don't play, they were caught within two weeks. I was shocked the clubs weren't taken. Nothing else was valuable.

Ha, I was thinking of this, but in a different direction... apparently they have to replace like with like... so if I claim my 22 year old Taylor Mades as "Custom fit Taylor Made irons" they should have to replace them with custom fit irons, right...

I had mine stolen out of my car. Another neighbor had his taken too. The thieves could have taken other things in the vehicles but they just wanted golf clubs. I itemized everything at replacement cost levels even things like the ditty bag and its contents, golf balls, ball markers, etc. Now I always lock my cars and keep the clubs inside.
