Which 56* wedge

I have a 56* sm6 m grind 8*. Of course a little prone to digging in green side bunkers but good off tight green side lies and full shots. Is there any other 56* Or should I consider or different wedge set. (56*is most lofted). Thanks

M grind is quite forgiving from the sand. Most of the other available options are going to make the digging worse not better. I have heard great things about the ping glides with the wider soles and Taylormade high toes if your looking for some help in the sand.

Can confirm M grind sm7 to be the most forgiving on the sand. Huge confidence booster.

What about the wider sole and a leading edge to hit off tight lies? Is there such wedge?

You could look at an S grind, I am a low bounce player traditionally, and thought if I couldn't get an M... an S would do.

 

My pops is the same, he got fitted into a 58 D (he goes 46f, 54f, 58d, 62t)... he loves that thing... tells me about it all of the time.

 

Moral= fitting helps, if possible...

 

Another moral= more bounce isn't always a bad thing.

Go and try them all. The new Glide 3 is very very very impressive. It WILL take the Vokey SM7s out of my bag. If not, then I'm going full Hi Toe again.

I really enjoy the PM Grind. It's not for everybody, but it feels like a Swiss army knife of a wedge.

what do you play most often? are you a muni person that the bounce will certainly always help, or are you a private club player where they have proper drainage and can afford to shave down their green collar cut to the length of most muni greens where bounce would hurt you? However, if you regularly bounce back and fourth between types of play, the question should be what wedge(s) not what wedge. If you are mostly one condition over the next figure out which wedge is your best option and look at trying to learn different shots for the other times....

So what i'm trying to say is.... Just buy TWO!!!

I was in the same boat as the OP, and moved from the M to the S grind. The fuller sole offers a bit more bounce in the sand, yet has enough relief to play well from tighter lies and firmer conditions. Overall, I find the S grind to play very smooth in various conditions.

PM grind 56 is the best in the sand I have used. Ping Glide are the most versatile IMO. Currently play SM7's....go figure!

found a 56* Wilson PMP raw on a used rack for $20 (never used) liked it so much I bought the Oil Can PMP 52 and 60 to add to the set. 14* of bounce but a narrow sole. Not a popular choice, but it works. KBS hi Rev 125 stock shaft

I also use the S grind in both my 56* and 60*. I think it is pretty versatile and can be opened some almost anywhere if need be but its also good for fuller shots.

I prefer to have a 56 high bounce (Vokey F grind 14 bounce) for most sand situations and a 60 low bounce with a wider flange for tight lies, very firm sand, etc. I’ve experimented a bunch and settled on this combo as it works best for me in all conditions.

I’ve been using an S grind 56 for a year or so and I absolutely love it. I’d say it all depends on how you use your 56. I tried out a beat up PM grind that I got on eBay and it didn’t work for me. I mostly hit square faced shots with my 56 and feel way more comfortable doing so with a traditional shaped wedge. Full, flighted, chips, pitches and open the face slightly in fluffy lies and sand, S grind handles that all perfectly. That being said, I love the pm grind in my 60 as the trick wedge
