Have to shout from the rooftop - Hole in One!!!!!!

Yes it is that need to let all know. Had one 39 years ago. As I remember a ground ball on a 100 yard hole (Par 3 course) that found the bottom of the cup.

 

Yesterday we teed off on a glorious day with sun and and temps around 7 celsius (43 fahrenheit) with wind too, perfect shorts weather and first off as usual. On 15 playing 145-150 the tee blocks were set in an unusual spot on the left of the tee deck to a front right pin. Usually I come up short and catch the rough in front as it is an uphill hole. Today a perfect strike that I still am coaxing, hit right at the front and trickles ever so delicately before disappearing in the bottom of the cup!!!!

 

I texted a friend who had called 2 holes prior and screwed up my 6'er for birdie (seldom get those chances too) and waited 'til I got the hole just to be 100% sure.

 

As I said, really should be thanking the greenskeeper and whoever put the hole where my ball ended up.

 

With the odds of 12,500/1, I figured 40 years 50 rounds/yr (no where near that) and 4-5 par 3's/18 holes (we have 5), it was just about time...... :) ;)

Not sure how deserved, but it was a pure, well struck ball and really was a "no doubter" as it tracked very gently into the hole.

 

Must admit am reliving it a few times.......

Nice one. Someday I hope to replicate the feat. I've got nearly 40 years of golf under my belt and have only come close a couple of times.

 

I do have several hole-outs for eagle on par fours, and one double eagle on a par 5, however. In this game, you've got to take what it gives you and be happy.
