They don't have a trade in program. If you ordered Gen 2's between November and Gen 3 launch you get to buy Gen 3's for ~$225/stick and the shaft, makeup has to match your Gen 2's. So for $625/club you got two sets instead of one.

GAMER SETUP:

Callaway AiSmoke TD 8* @ 7* | Tour AD HD 7s

Callaway AiSmoke TD 3W | Denali Black 6.0 70g

They usually put the overstocked previous gen stuff on sale for the heroes program and even at $95-$120 a club they’re still making a substantial profit. Someone previously stated that PXG was a niche product which is absurd. I don’t recall “niche products” being mass produced and mass marketed. Anything mass produced in China isn’t a niche product regardless. They’re simply an aesthetically different looking club that’s exorbitantly marked up in an industry where everything else is already exorbitantly marked up.

PXG absolutely represents a niche BRAND. They have high loyalty with low market penetration. I dont know what their market share is compared to TM, PING, Callaway, etc., but I guarantee you it's minimal. Either way, market share isnt as important as their profit margins.

I dont know that their profit margins are and, unless you work in PXG's finance department, you dont know either as they are a privately held company. I highly doubt they're making a substantial profit when they discount their clubs by 300%. They can afford to have the Heros program because they achieve desirable margins on their non-discounted products.

It may have changed since they officially released, but back in November they had to match when a guy in my playing group ordered his two weeks after his GEN2's came in.

I don't think you understand the definition of a "niche brand." Please google it. Niche brands can have mass produced products. Again, a niche brand is defined by high customer loyalty and low market penetration. The quantity of products produced has absolutely nothing to do with the term, "niche." It also has absolutely nothing to do with the location the products are being manufactured.

A fundamental understanding of consumer behavior and microeconomics explains this.

So you’re saying with all the advertising they’re just shooting for a lower market share because they know they jack the price up exorbitantly? You mean they pay players millions to just to sell fewer clubs? Lol. Maybe that’s why they made a cheaper cast club in one of their Chinese factories. They may try and sell themselves as a niche brand but they’re as niche as the clubs Callaway makes for top golf.

MARKET. PENETRATION. As long as their business model and pricing structure remains as it is, PXG will never reach the market shares of other major brands in golf. Simultaneously, they will have the most loyal consumer base in golf manufacturing. Together, these factors yield a niche brand.

I apologize to everyone for going out on a limb to prove that PXG is, in fact, a niche brand, and for hijacking the thread in doing so. I'm done.

I’d love to pick up a GEN2 Black 0311T 3 iron if they end up coming out for sale discounted for everyone and not just heroes. I don’t know how often I’d game it, but it’d be fun on the range and in the simulator.

I can't believe it's come to this. I'm gonna do an iron fitting and most likely pull the trigger. Didn't ever think I would consider PXG but the gen 3 look really good to me and hearing I can blend in the ST is even better.

ST is a solid forging without their filled inside tech right?
