PXG Gen 3... Jan 2020 (ST, Gen 3 T and P Photos added Page 13)

Question for any of you guys who have been fit by both a regional or mobile PXG fitter AND a fitting at the corporate office or Scottsdale National: Did you see any difference in the type of fittings, quality of fitting and the fitters' experience? The only reason I ask is that the regional fitters in my specific area appear to be relatively young guys who don't look like they have that much experience. That kind of scares me and makes me think I should go to Scottsdale instead.

I have inquired about both options in Scottsdale.

I nearly fell over when I heard the cost of "The Xperience" at Scottsdale National. Starts a $20K and goes up depending on accommodation.

The other option, which is free, is to get fit at PXG headquarters, the only issue is... your build still goes into the queue so you have to wait 8-10 days to get your clubs. If you want the clubs same day or next day it's a $1000 rush charge. Kind of sucks because if I'm getting fit there, I would like to turn it into a golf trip and play in Scottsdale. I'm not criticizing PXG but you would think if someone is willing to fly into Scottsdale to be fit, the least they can do is provide a fast build so you can play, even if it means putting online orders back an extra day.

When I placed my order on 1/4, (Gen 3 0311 P, 5-P) I was told 5-7 days and that Gen 3 orders were being prioritized. When I called back to check the status of my order, they said it would be another week. Anyway, I received shipping confirmation yesterday, so 12 days from the day they were ordered to the day they shipped out. After waiting 3 months for my Apex CF16 order direct from Callaway several years ago, anything 2-3 weeks is fast enough for me.

I had the same experience when I got my Gen2's, did the mobile fitting with a young kid that didn't know much. Also made all kinds of promises, (he would send me PXG hats and towels with my order), that never made good on and when I had issues he never returned my texts or calls. Hopefully he doesn't work for them anymore.

Good luck, not sure many people on this board have been to Corporate and/or used a local Master fitter. My local Master fitter is excellent and I used one in Vegas and he was great as well. Just because they're young, doesn't mean they're inexperienced. Ask them about their experience, they'll tell you, if they don't it might be a red flag. I've never been fit better by anyone who wasn't a PXG fitter. After all, it's part of the premium we pay.

I have been fit twice by Tyler at Scottsdale PXG HQ. He is a young man that is very knowledgeable about the product and how to properly conduct a fitting.

He started the first fitting off telling me about himself and as I mentioned GolfWRX he said he was on here too. He is an equipment junkie like all of us. My point is that his age had nothing to do with my fitting, it was excellent both times. He fit me into some Gen3 irons and waiting until Hero Pricing, which he said will be months away.

Thanks. That's what I'm t rying to figure out. A 24 year old kid who has spent 18 months learning to read Trackman numbers is not a fitter. It's someone who has learned a "box" based on a standard corporate set of numbers they were given. There's a lot more to fitting than that. I've experienced several of those, and I'm not seeking that any longer. I'm not suggesting that's the case with PXG, just asking for others experience to ensure I don't run into that again, particularly when I'm dealing out $5G's or more on golf clubs.

FWIW...............….Ok....the GEN 3 irons are out.....so what are the PXG PGA TOUR STAFF playing?

Johnson...0311T G3;

Perez.0311XP G3;

Moore....0311ST;

Hahn....0311ST;

Horschel....0311ST;

Reavie....0311ST...…4i 0311P G3;

Langley....0311ST;

Clark..0311ST;

Not listed is Jason Kokrak...I believe he is playing the 0311T G3.

Interesting in that the majority had been playing the 0311T G2 irons, but did not move to the G3 model T and instead are bagging the ST irons.

Hahn is playing the ST's. He showed me his clubs back in late December so I can vouch for that. I don't think the rest of that list is 100% correct, unless you've seen them in the bag recently. They put all of them up on the website as ST to initially disguise the fact they were about to intro the Gen3's. But, it's either in the GolfWrx video or one of the one's from the Average Golfer that I believe Mike Nicholette says two of them are playing the Gen3 T's. I could be wrong, but I know one of the videos talks about that.

The pro listing just recently upated on the pxg site...was showing the older G2 stuff until now.

So, correct at this time.

Clark, Hahn, Horschel, Reavie all had the ST in the listing up until the recent update.

The ones updated are Johnson, Perez, Langley, Moore.
