I was fit yesterday and asked about the Gen 2 - they said they're totally out of the 9 iron T heads, so you can order anything other than a full set of Ts.

Hit all three - 0211, Gen 2, Gen 3. Hit the P for the Gens 2 and 3. They're as advertised. Was expecting the 0211 and Gen 2 to be very similar, but found the Gen 2 to feel noticeably softer and give me an extra 2-3mph. Gen 3 picked up another few mph of ball speed for me over the Gen 2.

Having said that, I'm all in on these things. I've also hit 0211 side by side with the MP 20 HMB and the P790. The three of those were comparable, and the better performance of the PXG forged has me sold on the brand and what they're doing.

For reference, I'm around 85 mph with the 7 iron and high launch/high spin, albeit with a pretty efficient strike.

Fitting this morning, Gen 3 T giving me 5+ yards and 2 -3 mph better than my Gen 2 P. ST was comparable to my Gen 2 P distance with more spin. Feeling of ST good, but like Gen 3 T better IMO. Went Gen 3 T 1 degree stronger with same shaft set up (Nippon Modus 105). Gen 2 P and Gen 3 P are nearly identical except for the cone and goo inside. Didn't hit Gen 3 P because I wanted ST or T.

They seemed similar looking down - I didn't set them side by side, but now wish I would have gotten some pics for you. I think the gen 3 may have a little more aggressive chamfer off the topline to make it not appear larger, but it might actually be.

As I mentioned above, I didn't see anything drastic other than an increase in ball speed of 2-3 mph between them. That said, most of the fitting I was focused on really getting the right setup to try to bring launch down, as I was in the 22-24* range with a 7i. More than I wanted so going between project x, dynamic gold, etc.

Having said that, the fitters noted that, while you should get fit just to confirm, they're finding a lot of the players being fit to the same shaft and specs across gen 2 and gen 3, which would support that the launch and playing conditions aren't much different, just a little better.

The XP loft for the 7 iron is 3* stronger than the P and the GEN 3 XP is 2* stronger than the GEN 2 XF.

Anyone have any thoughts on loft gapping to create a mixed XP & P set?

The lofts on the XPs are significantly stronger, can't see breaking the set below the 5i.

To anyone who has hit the Gen 3 T irons off grass, or who has actually owned them for a bit, have you noticed any weird flyers? The reason I ask is because one of the only issues I have with my current setup is that when I transition from Pro Dot to the regular Apex Pro in the 6-iron, I have gotten a couple of shocking jumpers. The Apex Pro 6 iron has cup face, which I presume is meant to do basically the same thing as the Gen 3 reactor technology (i.e., increase ball speed across a larger area of the face). I realize they are obviously different technologies, but I'm wondering if the Gen 3 Ts have a tendency to jump at all. It sounds like PXG engineered a nice bump in ball speed into these irons, which if true basically across the face is great. But I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed any hot spots in the Ts.

I am looking at these 2 as well....here's my thoughts as of now without having tried any of them...in theory this would work, might look odd having (2) 7 irons in the bag, but we know they're not the same loft. I don't have a need for a 4 iron as I already have a Xtreme Darkness 3 iron set at 19.

XP6 (+1 on loft) = 23, XP7 (+1 on loft) = 27, P7 = 31, P8 = 35, P9 = 40, PW = 45, PG = 50
