PXG Gen 3... Jan 2020 (ST, Gen 3 T and P Photos added Page 13)

I used my fitting for the gen 2 specs, but subbed in my favorite Modus 105 vs the Elevate Tours they put me in before. Hated that shaft in tournament play, just never warmed up to the feel. Had Modus in my iblades forever and really like the tip section. Still wondering if I should have gone all T's....

I’m thinking about a combo set of T’s and ST’s. I could definitely go all T’s and be super happy. I don’t think you can wrong with any combo.

Ive seen the Gen3 and can tell you the topline is definitely thinner than my CF19 and the P790s. The CF19 is actually smaller than the 0311Ps

Would you put blade length similar to JPX919 Forged or the P790?

Id say closer to 919 forged but not as long as 919 to me 790 looked smaller and topline was thicker much like CF19. 0311P look thinner to me.

Did some testing today...I really loved everything about the Gen2 P but the Gen3 P, to me is higher launching, more offset and less players club. I opted for the Gen3 T, which performed very closely to to Gen2 P but more compact head and better feel. Also all of these feel and performed better for me than the 2019 TM P790s.

So I broke down like any Golfwrx ho and scheduled my fitting toward the end of the month for the Gen 3’s. Just so on the fence of whether I should be in the P’s. Am currently a 10 HC and the T’s are probably just too much club for me anymore. Sure like the shorter blade length and top line though. Also would probably sacrifice some distance and forgiveness that I need.

What was your distance loss from P to T? At a 10 HC, you could definitely handle the T’s.

Fitting is 1/30 so I don’t have an idea of what it will be. Only have heard here in the thread that there will be some loss of distance and forgiveness.

I am a bit of an older guy and grew up with blades. Have always appreciated their beauty and feel.

I would definitely keep an open mind going into the fitting. You may find that the T’s suit you just fine. PXG can always adjust lofts on the T’s a little stronger to match the P’s.

I’m a 12-14hcp and was fit into the T’s. I hit them more consistently than the Ps and XPs because of my swing and attack angle. Get fit and don’t worry about what head you think you should be in. I love my T’s.

Will def keep an open mind. Secretly wanting the T’s but won’t hurt scoring for my emotional desire. Thanks for the words of encouragement maybe the T’s will work out. Lakecowboy are you a good striker of the golfball? I find my miss being toey.

Generally speaking my irons are my strength. I toe’d some irons in the fitting to see what they’d do and I was really impressed with what they did and it’s translated to the course over the last month since they came in. Whatever you get fit into, I think you’ll enjoy them.
