PXG Gen 3... Jan 2020 (ST, Gen 3 T and P Photos added Page 13)

Gen3 irons coming in January. If you received an invitation into the PXG 1000 (I did because I was an Xperience guest), you can pre-order the Gen3 irons with a one day build turnaround.

 

I will have mine by Friday.

Is that a free Gen1 or Gen2 club with purchase of 6 Gen2 irons? Gen 1 who cares?

No idea on all the details or if its a club offer or PXG offer.

Was able to hit them yesterday, shockingly they are a little better... I would have bet my house I would not be ordering a new set but I was wrong...

I hit them and thought the top line was a lot better, as well as sound and feel. Numbers were better and I was impressed w/ the ball flight on poor ball strikes.

Numbers were better but nothing crazy. Personally I thought Gen3's felt and sounded better than Gen2's and I thought the dispersion got even tighter, and the forgiveness even better.

Wonder if they will ever offer these with the new Oban 125 shaft? Premium head needs a premium shaft IMO. Wishful thinking perhaps

The shaft offerings are slightly different but I don't know if that is one. I started out in a DG shaft but they realized it wasn't available for Gen 3's so we switched. I ended up in a KBS shaft.

I received my new set yesterday

Had my fitting yesterday. Too me they aren't that much better than the Gen 2's and they are really good. The feel is a little different in a good way but my numbers were pretty close to what I am hitting now. So of course I did order them, they should be here in 7-10 days with the PXG 1000 email I got. Love the looks of these and anyway who doesn't like getting new irons right!!!

Did you think the face had more forgiveness? I thought shots I toe'd responded better and had better numbers. Center face shots numbers were similar, but the feel was better. I thought it had a smoother sound too.

I didn't really pay a ton of attention to the bags of shafts, just the ones I hit. I ended up ordering my Gen3 T's with C-Taper Lite's X-Stiff.

Are the irons the only thing coming from PXG in 2020?

I didn't really see that but for whatever reason I was striping it yesterday. You always worry before a fitting that you'll go there and hack it up and look like an idiot for buying PXG's instead of taking lessons. Anyway one re-assuring thing came out of it for sure. This is the 3rd time Gen 1, Gen 2 and now Gen 3 that I've been fitted for irons and everytime the Accra Tour 100i's give me the best numbers. This year the Steelfiber i95 came close, but even if they were slightly better I hated the way they feel. The Accra's are SO MUCH smoother.

They threw me in a shaft that matched my current setup at first and I was doing ok, then they realized it won't be offered in the Gen3's after 2 or 3 swings so they pulled it out and threw something in they thought was similar. I couldn't get near a green with that shaft and had the thought of "what am I doing here buying these?". Then they yanked that shaft out and all the rest were way better and my final ball flight/dispersion were amazing!

Sorry, just saw your sig line. I had the KBS C-Tapers 120's before I went to Graphite, love those shafts. Had to go to Graphite due to a torn rotator cuff and no regrets.

Is it just me, or is that a ridiculous amount of offset for a 7-iron, especially in the T. I could understand if the SGI had that much offset, but that is too much for the T.
