Well, that’s a lot better than $650 per stick..

These aren’t fully killed like the STs. There’s are forged. And just finished with milling to match the look of the STs. If anything the new Gen 3s all look like the new STs, for all intents and purposes this is probably PXGs new design aesthetic. It mimics the raise bump on their woods as well

That's a good observation about the raised bumps matching the woods....may be a coincidence..but may be purposeful

In the Gen3 non ST irons, it absolutely serves a purpose. That “bump” is hollow on the inside of the iron so it means extra COR2 material in the head directly behind the center of the club head.

It serves a purpose in the ST as well. More mass behind the hitting area translates into better feel.

Not arguing it has a real purpose...but it "matching" the woods might be a coincidence...just noticing that both had a bump was a good observation i thought...but now i will shut up

Felt great just like the Gen 2. Mid January release & ship date. As I recall, it’s priced similar to the Gen 2. Great sticks, just more than I’m willing to spend with the other offerings on the market.

I was getting a few extra yards consistently with the Gen 3 P’s and T’s over the Gen 2 versions. They felt pretty similar. I’ve always had a hard time with the PXG’s on looks. I really want to play the 0311P’s but the longer irons just look too rounded to me on the top line and they have a bit too much offset. The 0311T’s look great but I don’t think I want the smaller head. I only saw the 7 iron of the Gen 3 irons. I thought the Gen 3 0311P’s did look better to my eye than the Gen 2.

Ultimately, if you can wait until January for the Gen 3’s, it’s probably wise. That is unless they start offering the Gen 2’s at a significant discount, then I’d go that direction.

Thanks for the review. I have a fitting scheduled next Wednesday so we'll see how it goes.

And I've had the PXG irons since they came out. First the Gen 1's and then went with the Gen 2's when they came out. No reason to stop now right, love the looks of all of them and the performance is even better.

Yes but with PXG’s “we won’t replace anything with something that is not markedly better” and the years they took between gen 1 and gen 2 this doesn’t really feel the same as most of the other manufacturers normal and expected release cycles. Call me bitter because I’m in the just bought gen 2 irons not knowing they were two months from being replaced camp but I feel PXG is moving away from their commitment to making the best clubs possible, no matter the cost/time it takes, and more towards the mainstream “we’ve got to put something out every spring to stay relevant.” I can’t fault them, it’s business and that’s the way every other major brand does things, but I feel like it’s definitely different than they’ve done in the past.

I get where you are coming from in regards to how there’s a known with other brands that either in the late summer early fall or around the pga show new product will come where as with pxg it’s an unknown until they announce something is coming or getting “upgraded”

I do think they are still maintaining the we aren’t releasing anything til it’s improved since it appears they are taking some of what they did in the st line and applying it to the rest of the 0311 lineup.

I was in your boat last year with the gen2 and them being offered on the heroes program after I had received mine. I look at it like I wanted the irons when I ordered them so I bought them, there were no guarantees of ever going on the heroes program so no disappointment from me and look at this the same way. Up until this week there was no news on new gen3 so use who bought already did so with the mindset of I want thirst irons so I’m getting them.

its been 2 years since the Gen 2s launched......IIRC. Also, the Gen 3s are better clubs, i dont know what anyone else expects? Both boxes checked IMHO
