Shot Scope V3

Recommended Posts

I think I understand the AI strap tech. I always thought the watch itself "sensed" the Tags but now I believe the sensors that pick up the Tag are in the strap itself. As far as "Instant feedback", if "instant refers to right after the round I could see it. I haven't seen anything in all the reading I've done that shows any kind of post shot feedback.

Confirmed in the MGS article that shot detection is in fact in the strap for the V3 but sounds like it wasn't previously. Shotscope V3 GPS Shot Tracking Watch | MyGolfSpyEdit: Wow...WRX blocks references to that site that does the Most Wanted stuff? That seems petty. Here's the image they posted:

Based on all the reviews I've seen, I think the V3 will end up being a major flop. The fact that many people have experienced so many issues with the V3, including those who've mentioned that the V2 works better, leads me to believe that either Shotscope released this watch way too early in the development life-cycle, or that the quality of the components used in the watch are suffering due to what is going on in the world right now. Either way, it seems like the V3 has a long way to go before it can be relied on to do what Shotscope claims it can do.

I am not really having issues other than putter. It has always been a crap shoot whether V2 or V3. Also, since I have a counter weighted putter, I had to modify the sensor which makes my putter issues understandable. My only gripe with the V3 is the mobile only round syncing. I now must sync via mobile, then trot into the computer room to edit my round. First world problem, I know, but still annoying.

The good news about those of us who were V2 users is that the company has years of BEST IN CLASS customer support to help buffer these early adopter issues. I don't have a single problem troubleshooting the bugs with them given the discount we were given to jump on early. It also helps there's nothing else like it, and for me I'm so dependent on the watch to play I feel naked when I don't have the watch on. But yeah, early bugs are normal. I have nothing but confidence in the company that they will improve things as the firmware gets improved.

I really don't know of any releases of note, software or hardware, that haven't had issues. Look at all the Apple IOS releases one on top of the other because of issues and some still aren't resolved. Look at the price of cars and how many recalls and problems they have. Given Shot Scopes reputation I expect they will get the problems sorted out in short order.

I was a V2 user for a while. Loved it. Jumped at the chance to upgrade to the V3. What a mistake! It misses around 12 to 15 shots a round. Last week, I played a faculty with 2 18’s. The watch wouldn’t pick up the correct 18 until I was on the 4th hole!!! Yesterday, the putting pin collect feature stopped working for about 5 holes. It sometimes registers practice swings as actual shots. Then to top it all off, yesterday I noticed This on startup.

61fbf6f8-c518-4ce1-8871-b6cdcb0c8fed.jpeg I could deal with this if they had decent customer service. So far, I’ve had absolutely no response to any of my emails. Nothing!!!

mid still recommend the V2 (despite the fact this company doesn’t respond to customers with problems), but I would advise anyone to stay well clear of the V3 if my experience is anything to go by.

I get the same when I turn my v3 on on the screen. I didn’t think too much of it and assumed it was part of the loading process. Does any one know if it is a fault?

Early on with the v3 I had lots of missed shots and practice swings being registered so was lots of post round editing to do. Since turning off L1 + L5 GPS this has reduced almost completely for registering practice swings. Still missing the odd shot but not too dissimilar to the v2.

Does anyone know how you check the battery percentage mid round? On the v2 if you entered the settings menu (I think) it showed batt percentage, can’t seem to see it on the v3?

Whoa, this is the first i've heard and completely different experience to what i've had over the years. They are always responsive and very helpful. They are based in the UK, so I know i won't get a response today until tomorrow, but that's fine. Have you had this happen before, where they wouldn't respond to you? VERY unusual from everyone I've heard from that has used them. Calling @Shot Scope V2

Based on my experiences with competitive product I have really looked into this unit to see if it is something I want. I have gone through their FAQs thoroughly and still had a number of questions which they have responded to in a very timely manner. I've not had an occasion where a question has been ignored.

Not sure many of you have been "early adopters" before. The V3 is a new product and a lot of us got it quite early. Bugs will likely get worked out thru updates. I don't seem to have the issue with tons of missed shots. I had the V2 for a bit but haven't used it in over a year but it seems pretty similar so far in my use with the V3. If you're having issues, please contact support to help them get resolution in updates.

Just adding to the frustrated crew that "upgraded" from v2. It's disappointing because I've raved about this to everyone. I've had to do some HEAVY editing after the round, and today's round wasn't even registered. Yes I was in the right setting GPS + Track, and it worked fine on the course, but when I went to upload, there was nothing to upload. As If I never played a round. Just brutal.

that happened to me once or twice with the V2. Never did figure out with SS support what caused it, but it was a fluke and never happened consistently. Bizarre, sorry to hear. How many rounds with the V3 have you played? I just finished my 4th round and things are getting better--it's still missing a few obvious shots it should catch (full shots with practice swings). But it's much better than the first few rounds where it was missing double digit full swings.

Agreed, and don't get me wrong, i wish i had kept my V2 hindsight, at least for a bit while the kinks were out. I played 2 rounds up north that i'll probably not play again, and the data was so off i just trashed both rounds. I mean, i wish i hit a 350 yard drive, but alas....lol

But it's SO much smaller, i'm keeping the faith and praying. Playing 3 rounds this weekend, so this should be a good test.

I played a round today and the only shot besides a putt that it missed for me was a little shot around the green where I had a terrible lie and chunked it about 5 yards. It has been a lot of editing on the greens for me lately and that's not good because I don't tend to remember where my putts were or the flag was on every green.

I had this problem when I first used the V3. Contacted support and they said this was an issue if you initially connected the watch to the desktop app. I did not realize the desktop app was open when I initially charged the V3 via my computer USB port. Support uploaded the rounds and its synced since then.. Contact support and they will upload the round for you. I assume the round is on their server, but not showing up on your dashboard.

I was also kinda crossing my fingers that the covid production/shipping delays may have robbed them of some testing and bug-fixing time. But considering the full rollout in stores, it sounds like they're content to deal with the v3's issues on a larger scale until they can be fixed. My v2 is back on the charger just in case.

I just ordered. I've owned every shot tracking system and I mean all of them.

I currently game the garmin s62 with ct10 and I'm extremely disappointed with the system. The tags are huge, flimsy and don't stay seated. I've managed to lose 1 on the course. Tracking putts on the garmin is terrible.

I can't wait to try the v3. I'm sure it's not perfect but has to be better than the garmin.

To date arccos has been the best but putting was iffy and it also registered shots I didn't take.

I played my first round with the V3 and after having to delete and reinstall the app I finally got it uploaded. The interface is going to take some getting used to after using Gamegolf for so many years, but it looks like it has potential. For sure I liked the GPS yardages when playing and I only had one weird hole where I had to delete a drive that was 50 yards behind the tee box. I'm hopeful I can get used to it.

I just ordered as well. Having tried game golf (disaster) and arccos (ok, not great), I'll try it. But if it too distracting on the course, it will be going back. the whole idea of this stuff is to be able to review your game after and figure out what to work on. I hate that I have to use another watch - still don't understand why they didn't use the Apple Watch since it has become so ubiquitous.

If you made it compatible with the Apple watch they would probably also have to make it compatible with Samsung and other Android product. Easier to develop your own watch I would think. Plus, I'm not sure all the features, such as pin collect, could be adapted to those smartwatches. Then as far as revenue goes, the app is free, the sensors that go on the clubs are relatively inexpensive, leaving really the watch itself to generate any revenue of any kind. Being smartwatch compatible would also offer no differentiation from other apps and solutions out there.
