Just wanted to pop into say I had a chance to hit all three, im a 117-120 fairly high spin player and the SZ was almost too low spin for me, kinda diving out of the sky, really fade biased (more than previous models possibly?) The standard I liked, great sound, balanced performance.

However, out of nowhere my favorite easily was the Mavrik Max. Mega forgiving, super stable, love the shape and it got me the best ballflight. I look forward to seeing if I can dial that in even further. Biggest surprise ive had in awhile with equipment. It kind of felt like the G400 max with a touch more stability, no ballooning and no excess spin. A winning combo in my book.

I’ve spent almost 3 hours on TM with both.

Standard is ridiculously consistent on spin range, for me about 1800-2600, with an average of about 2100.

Ball flight with standard to me had a very minor draw bias, but held the spin to a reasonable level.

SZ was very fade biased for me, even with the weight back. The Spin was super low, even with a fade, and will be an unreal driver for anyone with spin issues, or wanting to maintain spin consistency with hitting a fade.

I also found the SZ to be much more penal on mishits, and I’m typically a good driver of the ball.

See below for the last TM session with the standard head 10.5 turned down to 9.5 with the Riptide shaft, but as you can see I’m already a low spin player and still getting optimal spin in a shaft that’s supposed to be mid spin and mid launch.

Just a little PSA--for anyone who wants another option for a premium shaft in their Mavrik driver or fairway wood, without the premium price. Oban shafts are available when ordering on the Callaway website, for either no upcharge in some instances (Kiyoshi HB 65, Hashimoto 65, Isawa Red 55/65/75), or for lesser upcharges in case of some other lines like Kiyoshi Black/Gold, Devotion, etc. I know Oban has lost some luster, but their shafts are still excellent.

Mine arrives on Tuesday but I doubt we’ll have decent weather any time soon. I typically get along better with TM drivers but will be at a 2nd swing tomorrow so maybe I can give both SIM and Mavrik a couple swings. I don’t get much out of hitting drivers indoors personally so it may have to be a head-to-head test on course.

Anyone have more feedback on the Rogue White in 60x specifically? Seeing more and more that the standard version is a little soft so not sure how well it actually compares to the TX version if at all.

I wouldn’t say it felt soft by any means, just maybe more feel in the shaft vs linear. Since shafts are so subjective, some guys will say an X is soft or an S is XS. For example, I am between 110-114 fairly consistently, and didn’t even notice I was hitting the 60 S in the riptide because it was smooth.

Ended up in a decent swap for one in the Small Batch TX so will put it through the paces with SIM Max and the Standard Mavrik.

Anyone demo max? I got my cobra extreme this week and not really in love with it. Myself in addition to others have asked same question, does anyone else have to almost force it to go left? Don’t get me wrong but I do like most time to eliminate the left side but I like to turn it over too at times. Trust me when I say this, I had the logo of my glove literally almost straight up to make turn over. If I take a slight strong grip every other clubs hooks off range. I still have G410 plus for back up but would like try Mav Max, I got the irons coming and a Mav Max FW 5 w.

Just got a standard Mavrik, the subzero was seriously too low spinning for me. Ill update this later when I get my trackman information. But for now no marketing, no BS, no junk all three of the Mavrik drivers directly beat the Taylormades for me as well as the other challengers. Ballspeed, spin, carry, everything honestly. I havent been this excited for a driver in a very long time.

Got fit into Mavrik 9* set at -1 neutral, Tensei White 7TX tipped 1” at 44.5”.

I havent seen or hit any of them, but the Callaway rep in the TXG video mentions that the 13.5 max is less draw biased than the other max clubs. Seems it's mini driver like.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMaGn4D3V50

This thread seems mostly about the drivers, but anyone have thoughts/impressions of the SZ fairway?

I hit the SZ and got great distance with the weight in the front, but it was very hard to turn over. Nothing "special" about it, but it is a nice fairway. Sound and feel are good and looks aren't bad either.

Yup difference in spin and launch. I need to play with the weights to get the correct #’s but I’m think 12 back and 6 front will work well

They have offered a 3+ 13.5 version in the standard model heads that is flatter lie angle than the rest of the standard line as far back as the XR line, possibly longer. I have always wanted to try one, but I never hit 3 wood off the tee so it makes no sense for me. I think 13.5 max and the SZ 4 wood are both clubs I'd like to mess around with, though. Historically, some of the SZ models have actually had higher MOI with the weight back than the standard model fairways. Couple that with the smaller head, deeper face and flatter lie angle and I think they should be on anyone's radar that doesn't need draw bias from an upright lie angle or prefer a shallower face.

Really impressive stuff here, I wanted to show what I picked up over my gamer from last year. Same Tensei white 70TX shaft. Sub Zero spun too little, Mavrik Max was impressive as well but just too draw biased for me. I think just like Callaway wants it, I fit right into the middle and it beat out everything, particularly in ball speed. I don't usually buy into upgrading every year but this is the biggest year to year ballspeed jump I have had in quite awhile.

Mizuno up top and Mavrik is on bottom. Planning to build the Mavrik at 44.5" but theres a chance for 44.25, looking at 44.5 for just a slight increase in clubhead speed while maintaining accuracy. Best of both worlds at that length.

Pardon me, but where are you looking? The Mavrik goes from 59.8 ft left to 35.8 ft right, That leads to a pretty tight bubble with an average of 5.6 ft left. That bubble is below.

My miss is a stuck position underneath where I leave the face open and one of the best attributes from the Mavrik was really diminishing that miss, the stuff across the line to the left is probably my better swings, but the ones to the right are my misses and instead of going 171 feet right like the 45 inch Mizuno it really diminished that and kept it much closer to center.

I was checking the weight in back, looks like other callaway weights will work, grabbed one from my dish that I think was from my rogue SZ 3+, fits perfect.

SZ three wood might be the best looking fairway wood out this year. Very similar performance to SIM Ti on launch monitor. Cobra performed better than Callaway and TM for me. (same shafts for all three)
