Lightweight Stand Bags

Ordered a Carbon through DD’s and it shipped in 10 days when I was quoted 3-4 weeks, so I think delays are small and getting better.

Stalked this thread for a while and pulled the trigger. Now 2 rounds in with a Ping Hoofer Craz E Lite. Could not be happier. Super light and comfy. Great pockets and organization. Highly recommend.

Have had a nike hybrid sport lite for 2 weeks now.....just ok, not bad, not great....lots of club tangle and i only play with 10 clubs

I recently went back to carrying my bag, I picked up the SM Eco-Lite. I love everything about this bag, except that the straps want to twist from time to time. The nicest thing about the pocket layout is that it forces me to pair down how much I put in the bag.

2 rounds with a Titleist Players 4 Carbon. Light, comfortable, fit my 13 clubs with no problem. Water bottle holder is a little tight, but other than that, no complaints! Very happy and noticeably lighter than the 4 Plus I had prior.

The SM eco lite has me considering as I like their straps more than the 2.5+.

it is same opening as the 2.5, the straps are a lot better. I went with the blue and red color way. I love the look and functionality of the bag.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger last night on the Ping CEL. Ended up ordering from Carl’s Golfland because they were about $25 cheaper that PGASS or TGW. Anyone know why they or cheaper than everyone else? I thought Ping was pretty stringent on their MSRP or they used to be.

Anyone with the Ping CEL notice that it carries alittle heavier on the right shoulder? No matter how I try and adjust It, it feels like the left strap never gets the same pressure as the right.

They don't seem to regulate pricing on bags, several sites have different prices on them and even Dick's/Golf Galaxy allows coupons on them online

I agree 100%. Straps are great. Bag is light and has plenty of nice features. I have the Black/Red too and I get a lot of compliments.

Those pre curved straps were so much easier to throw on my shoulders than the flat SM 2.5+ straps.

So I just went to the local shop and looked at a few bags. Like the SM 2.5+ a lot. Was disappointed to see the current StaDry model doesn’t have the boxed dividers for each compartment like my 2016 StaDry. I was considering taking on the extra weight until I saw that. So now I’m between a 2.5+, the 3.5 LS, and possibly a Titleist 4 Plus (tho I know that’s not really in the lightweight category).

The SM Eco-Lite weighs 3.6 lbs empty, the only bag I have ever had lighter was the Taylormade litetech 3.0. The only reason the one is gone is the material was not very durable. This bag is better in every aspect.

How big is the water bottle pocket? 36oz big or more like a 24?

The water pocket will fit a 1 liter bottle, but since it is not insulated I am using a 24 Under Armor insulated bottle. I tried a larger 40 ounce bottle but it would not fit.

Yes. I did, and tried to adjust the straps to compensate but can’t get it just right. My K1-LO has the best balance for me.

Titleist Stay Dry is awesome for when it rains, but I do get some tangle with just 13 clubs

pretty tight everywhere as described in this thread, but it is great in the rain

I bought a SM 2.5+ in 2018 and am severely disappointed. I did not have the strap issue others had as mine never slipped. However I have had it nearly two years (purchased late july 18), and its is falling apart. The main puch for balls tees etc has a big tear in it and balls can bounce through it. Not the worst as my wife could sew it up so its usable. Yesterday I set the bag down when i got to the course and the stand didnt pop out. Our at least the right leg didnt. It appears the spine of the frame is broken and wont kick out the legs. I counted my posted rounds since buying the bag and its been 31 rounds. I have traveled with the bag once. i dont beat up and go out of my way to take care of it. very disappointed but it looks like im back in the market and going to dig into this thread and avoid sun mountain.

I'm on my 7th round with the Titleist StaDry, still getting used to it. I got the straps working better, and the bag levels off perfectly after a step or two.

The water bottle holder actually holds larger water bottles, but you need to really cram it in there for it to fit.

Still a nice bag, lightweight and carries easily.

Question about minimal sets and a bag like say the 2.5+, but really about any dual strap bag I'm sure.

Let's say I would carry 8 or 9 clubs and almost nothing else. No, I really mean it. 2 golf balls (another one in my pocket), a few tees, and a towel. I'm currently doing this with a Sunday bag.

It just looks like the balance would be way off without any ballast in the lower compartments. Yes or no?

When I carry this little in a 2.5+ or Hoofer Lite I end up only using 1 strap and it works perfectly
