Out of curiosity, what did they say when you called them? I can not imagine anything other than them saying, we will make up another head and send it out as soon as we can.

Sending another 15g weight is a joke - how the hell does that get the weight distribution right? If they were going to do it with weights, they would have to go and change all of the weights, not just one. Wow. For me, I would not be lead taping a new driver that they got wrong, because if it does not work you might have an expensive door stop. I think the fitter is the one that should be your advocate with the build department.

Well - I ordered that second Proto driver yesterday via the phone (the X) and I do not even have the order confirmation yet, but it looks like my hybrid went from an August 21st build to in assembly. Hoping for a quick turn around to actual shipment, so that confirms that the Proto Drivers get fast tracked out the door. Looking forward to comparing the X and X+

Sending another head hotmelted to get the right head weight was exactly what I was expecting them to offer but the only solution they offered was to send a single 16g weight which is not a solution as you said.

I have reached out again to tell them that this was not an acceptable solution and my hope and expectation is for them to get a correctly weighted head sent to me right away. Waiting to hear back but I will report back how they respond.

So when you ordered this - I take it you spoke to someone? What did the fitter tell you they would do? If they said they would hotmelt it then that is what they need to do. I am not sure what you are willing to do but someone else said that they got a towel and ball marker by blowing them up on Twitter. Maybe just a suggestion of having to resort to presenting this situation on Social Media, might motivate them to do what they said (the right thing)?

I now have a couple of competition rounds with my X+ under my belt.

I bought it from eBay and it came with an Evenflow CB shaft. I also had a spare Matrix Xcon 6 with a PXG tip which I gamed for years.

I'm lucky enough to be naturally high launch and low spin with a +4 AOA, so most drivers work OK for me.

On the range the X+ was more forgving and more accurate than my current SIM.

On a monitor it was slightly higher launch and slightly higher spin than the SIM (which is what I wanted) more accurate and about the same in ball speed.

I had high expectations. Driving is one of the strengths of my game.

Alas, I can't recall the last time I drove the ball as badly as I have in the last two rounds. The first was the most woeful. I didn't hit it well enough to spray it all over the place, I simply could not connect. Half my drives were drop-kicks. The other half were toe hooks.

Today was somewhat better (ie I hit a half a dozen fairways) but still pretty dire.

It feels like a tempo thing, so the comments above about swing weight are interesting and I'll get it checked. I bought some 0211 irons recently and mishit them just as mysteriously awful until I found out they were C9 because of the graphite shafts and could not be adjusted.

It's championship qualifying on Saturday, so that will be interesting.

If you are drop kicking the driver, you have to be swaying off center - and I would guess that it is due to the weight of the club - either overall, swingweight or the weight balance. Something with it you do not like and it is causing you to hunt for the club, but you can not find it, You can do a quick test with your hands to feel overall weight compared to your Sim, then check the balance point by balancing the club on your finger, then hold each one at the grip end horizontally in front of you. You will be able to tell if they are the same or different. Obviously a scale would really help here :)

Congratulations - sounds like you have a winning combo. I got fit about a week ago. Similar situation - pxg rep had it already setup for me - 10.5 head with the real ventus blue (he knows my swing). Never tried another shaft. Numbers and dispersion were everything I could have hoped.

On the monitor it was great, 17* launch, 2200 spin. I've put the Helium shaft I hit so well with the SIM in it and we'll how today's round goes.

Good luck on the timing of receiving the real ventus blue shaft. I’ve been waiting for my proto + with ventus since July 11 order date. In speaking with PXG this morning saying shaft is back ordered and supposed to arrive next week....we will see.

The + and ventus blue combo gave me best numbers and pretty easily bested my g400 max with TPT

im playing the + head with the Ventus, next best shaft for me was the IZ and Diamana ZF and closely behind that was the TourAD XC, im currently testing a tensei white 70

Got a 0811X Gen 2 when before the Proto price drop. One round with Gen2 and I've already ordered the X+ thanks mainly to this thread.

I have my Gen2 0811x dialed in a 44.5” and hotmelted to 206 grams and this is a monster for me (280 lol). Can’t imagine the Proto being longer, but I am for sure getting one anyway. I believe and trust the comments in here. With the Proto being even longer than the Gen2, then I am really excited.

The Ventus feels a bit smoother and is a bit more forgiving, the IZ demands a better swing and is slightly lower spin and results in slightly more roll....on a wide open course, the IZ will be a better performer. On a everyday basis, I prefer the Ventus but it is very close between the shafts.

I started this back in May and still going strong!  I did have a freak experience where the Evenflow Blue counterbalance broke on my downswing.  Reached out with pics to PXG and they sent me a new one.  Can’t say enough good things about this driver and PXG customer

Where did you get fit? I know PXG doesn’t offer the AD TP and was going to buy blind.
