SIM 3-wood Small Head

Has anyone hit the SIM Ver2 Small Head and compared it to the regular SIM 3-wood?  Would like to know if the 20cc difference is noticeable?  I hate the bulk of the current SIM 3-wood.  Thanks!

Totally get it....three woods now are so big.  JDs Clubs has a few for sale, I’ve held them, super nice.  Can definitely tell that they’re smaller.

Yes you can tell- I have one from JD it’s great.  The back sits a little lower to the ground and the face is a tad smaller.

I haven't seen or played Ver2, but you'd definitely notice the 20cc difference, no doubt about it.

 

I can notice a 20cc different on drivers that are 460 and 440.... you sure as heck will notice the difference between 180 and 160.

Great call here...that’s what I came from.  The SIM is just so good though so I had to change.  Miss that compact head.

It basically the same size & profile of the M5.

 

The M5 is one of the easiest 3 woods i have ever hit, absolutely love it.

I currently game the Ver2 SIM from the regular version and it’s night and day. I think it’s similar in profile to the M5 head but a little more rounded out the back!

Sounds like the new TaylorMade fairway lineup is being announced next month I'd also see if there are any changes to the current SIM.

So far...no.  The small heads are "tour issue" only.  Lots of folks are hoping the new line up will have smaller options available to the public.

I think you misunderstood my question. 

 

I understand they are Tour only.

Yes. The tour issue SIM max is very similar to the M6 tour head. Slightly smaller and full face scoring lines.

Tour Issue SIM also has a little different sole profile than the stock one

I’m surprised it’s not a touch smaller either

Yes, there is both a small in the Sim and Sim Max.  They probably have another version of the Sim max as well it would be a bogger head but have full scoring lines across the face.  They had 3 versions in M4 and 2 versions in M6.  

 

The tour small SIM is the first time I'm aware of them making a small head in an adjustable hosel.

So the Small SIM Ti I understand is identified by the lack of a ° symbol next to the stamped loft. Correct?

 

How would you identify the Small SIM Max? That I have no idea.
