Footjoy Premiere Tarlow

I really like the look of the new Footjoy Premiere Tarlow shoes shown in the Footjoy website and I may have to get a pair. I've heard that they weigh less than the Icons but not sure if it's true or not.

Was trying to order a pair of wing tips but they are phasing them out. I guess this is what replaces them. I will give it a while to see if they grow on me.

From what I am hearing in comparison to the Icons they are as light as a feather. Now, I am sure that they will still be heavier than some of the other options but for a structured shoe to be as light as I am told then that is quite something.

I have the Tarlow’s and they are much lighter than my icons.  I live in Minnesota so I haven’t worn them on the course yet.

The Premieres are supposed to be 12% lighter than the DryJoy Tours according to a promotional video I saw, and the DryJoy Tours are lighter than the Icons.

I have a pair of the all white Packards I got through a pre-sale. They are lighter and more comfortable than my DryTours. Also, the leather is much softer and doesn't require breaking in. I finally put them in play a couple of weeks ago and love them. I will buy more versions come March.

They must’ve just changed the launch date bc as recently as Monday, I spoke to customer service who confirmed 2/15.

Where are you seeing a picture of the shoes in grey?  If the Flint or the Packard come in all grey I'm in.

I can't help but see these as a tackier/heavier version of the G Fore lineup. I assumed anyone looking for a better more modern version of the classic FJ's would go G Fore. But, I gag a little at anything that contains an FJ logo so maybe I don;' have the same sense of nostalgia as others...

The Footjoy Premieres have a 2-year waterproof warranty; the GFore shoes have no waterproof warranty.

I live in the desert and even when in the midwest waterproof was never a pro or con to buying a shoe.

Good for you, but a waterproof golf shoe is important to many golfers in many parts of the country.

True, I guess I've never had an occasion even in a rain where I wished my shoes were waterproof. I also know if it rains here I'm not wearing a $250 pair of white leather shoes out, I'm wearing old $60 Roshe Tours and not worrying about waterproof either way.

I guess I learned a long time ago that everyone's entitled to buy and wear whatever brand of golf shoes they like whether it's Puma, Footjoy, G Fore, Adidas, Nike, Ecco etc.

As long as you're happy with your shoes that's what matters. I don't know about G Fore but I do know that Footjoy has amazing customer service regarding all of their products.

I agree with that but also have issues with G/Fore. I would for sure go with G/Fore shoes but they don’t fit me properly and slip on every model I’ve tried. The FJ’s always fit very well and hold up nice. So maybe that’s a reason.

I’ve blown out more than my fair share of shoes (I rotate and lean, hard...). I’ve blown out Nike, GFore, Ecco, Puma and FJ. I may be leaving some off the list even. The reason the waterproof warranty is important isn’t bc you’re afraid your socks are going to get wet or your shoes will get muddy, it’s when there’s a tear or a blow out, FJ “no questions asked” replaces the shoes on the spot. They’ve been incredible to deal with and other than an issue I had with some MyJoy Shield Tips, have held up better than most, too.
