What game improvement iron has the least offset?

Almost any, if you bend them 2 degrees weak. Of course that's if you don't want the super strong loft of today's typical GI Iron.

How much less offset would that result in?

I can't say with certainty. My P790s are an average of 2 weak in the long/mid irons and have very little offset.

 

I think there's a formula that will give you a ballpark figure. I remember searching around here for that a year or so ago, and if memory serves the general consensus is that 1 degree is about .75mm?

 

Hopefully someone will chime in with a more concrete answer.

And of course the bounce will increase/decrease at a 1:1 ratio with loft changes. So, 2 weak is 2 degrees more bounce. Also something to consider. I'm fairly steep so more bounce is usually a good thing for me.

I agree with the Mizuno Hot Metal Pro suggestion.  It was actually unnerving to me to see a head that long (standard GI) with so little offset - definitely stood out.

I like GI irons with traditional lofts so this is what happens to me. I end up bending a lot of the offset out

Define Game Improvement in your view?  To me, if the irons are regularly played on the PGA Tour, like i210, they are not game improvement.  Ping G series are.

Honma 747p.  3mm offset in irons 4-8.

Good find!  That’s almost less than a blade. I wonder why for an SGI iron there’s such little offset? Perhaps, since it’s more hybrid like, the gear effect is more pronounced?
