Hmm that’s weird.  I think the golf simulator video guy did a projector review with FSX in 16:10 and I just saw their own sim in a box screens are 16:10.

There have been some other people have trouble too. I could just be the subscription software. I installed FSX 2020 to be ready when it came and it worked fine. I’m guessing it’s just the new subscription one that has a bug right now

Really tempted by the GC3! Been using Mevo+ and funny enough the ability to see basic data on the screen of a GC3 is a huge plus for me. Love the idea of hitting a few into my net and not having to get the whole iPad or computer side of things going.

Bought this Caden backpack on Amazon for $32.  It’s the small size. Fits well and has an iPad pocket.

Initial thoughts on this (Launch Pro version) are mixed. I also have a Mevo and a Mevo+ and I will post a video with readings from all 3 if there is interest.

 

I have generally been quite happy with the Mevos. I only got this to retrofit another room in my house to a hitting area and I don't have enough depth for a radar unit.

 

Pros:

• Extremely well made. The device has a great weight to it and the build quality is excellent.
• Extremely quick readings. Shots read almost instantaneously and obviously have the numbers that I expect.

Cons / Opportunities for Improvement:

• The resolution on the screen isn't has sharp as I was expecting. It's fine, but seems like they could have gotten a better screen in these.
• I had challenges with initial registration. My main wifi network has some configuration that was preventing the device from communicating with foresight's servers. I was able to get around this by connecting the device to a hotspot on my phone for the initial registration. Subsequent connections to my wifi network do allow me to connect to the device from FSX Subscription and FSX Pro.
• The software for this (more on the FSX Subscription side) is extremely quirky. I am using a high-ish end gaming laptop for this (geforce 3060, i7, 16gb ram) but found that FSX Subscription would immediate crash when opening it (would pop up a splash screen for 5 seconds and just close). FSX Pro opened just fine. Further investigation of the logs showed that the software was trying to use my Iris display adapter instead of my 3060. Disabling the Iris through device manager allowed FSX Sub to open successfully, but I also had to set the display adapter in the FSX Sub settings to get the software to work without lag.
• The download page for software being hosted on hightail.com is really sketchy. Also the instructions requiring you to circumvent Window's protections is really unacceptable for a company the size of Vista Outdoors.
• The subscription verification seems like it is pretty buggy. I had multiple times when trying to use FSX Sub that it would tell me that I didn't have a sub or that my sub was expired that required me to restart my session. It also only shows me having 1 day left on my gold (purchased in full yesterday).
• Yardages vary between what is shown on the unit and what is shown as carry distance in FSX Sub. I assume the device is compensating for elevation/temp/barometric pressure or something, but it would be nice to understand more around why it does this

Overall the hardware is excellent. Once they get the software in a good state or open it up to other vendors, seems like a good value for the money (both the GC3 or the LP depending on what you are looking to spend).

 

If anyone from Bushnell sees this and wants to talk more about my experience, feel free to send me a DM. I am in the software industry and am comfortable reading logs and/or messing with various network and o/s settings.

 

Also if anyone wants to see a video comparing Mevo, Mevo+, and LP/GC3, let me know and I am happy to toss one together. Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see in that.

For those like me who are seeing different yardages between FSX and actually on the unit, one of the developers just told me on the LP Facebook page that the barometer isn’t active in the current firmware and will be released soon.

I have a Bushnell launch pro. I downloaded FSX 2020, but it's asking me for an Activation Code. I have the subscription. Why is this so difficult? lol.

Good evening friends. I received my BLP a couple days ago, and took it out for a spin at the range today. Love it to death...except for one item at the moment. I don't have my Sim PC rig here yet (thank you supply chain), so I'm just trying to connect it to either FSX mobile or FSX Pro on the iPad. I've subscribed to the gold package, and everything is set as needed. However, when I go to devices, it tells me I must sign in to a valid FSX 2018 subscription, and it won't show the BLP in the device tab, on either device.

 

Any assistance or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

very. I'm going to test disabling the security on my home network, and hot spotting to get it to register the device, and will post back. that seemed to solve it for another member, so fingers crossed.

What wedge combines are you referring to? Not aware of any wedge combines on FSX.

 

But if you're asking whether the BLP/GC3 can be used without the PC and only an IPAD the answer is yes. There is an IPAD version of FSX Pro as well as FSX Mobile (Pro is better imo).

Still having the same issue, although the BLP is getting an IP address now and communicating with foresight servers. It just will not let me connect a device initially via an iPad or iPhone FSX app.

Has anyone here connected this or GC3 in that manner, or everyone connecting to PC first and then mobile devices?

I got mine today and it took me a while to figure this same issue out.

 

I tried using the Ipad before the desktop app and that is why it was not working.

 

the foresight program on the PC is literally named "Foresight Subscription" once I installed that program on my PC and connected my BLP to my account everything started working.

 

I will say though the iPad app is essentially unusable.

 

for some reason it stopped reading spin from my BLP on most shots and failed to display flight at all. Worked for a handful of shots but did not work for more.

 

the weird thing is when you generate a report all the info is there and you can see the flight path after the fact.

 

Seems like that app really needs an update...

Doesn’t work on my GC3. I don’t think FSX mobile is supported by the GC3/LP and the fact it asks for 2018 makes me think they’ve abandoned it. I could be wrong though.

Obviously the high majority of users use foresight indoors for its superiority there. But with the amount of Tour players they have transitioned from Trackman, you’d think they would have a top notch app. 
 

I get players are not working on their path, and club metrics during an event. But come on. The Trackman app Is very good. Let’s get this app figured out. No reason a company of this stature (especially with Vista backing now) should be struggling with a poorly functioning app.

I'm not criticising Vista etc. but... it's a lot of kit for the money compared to what has come before.. etc. etc.

 

But jeez if I had spent 800 dollars on the software licence, I'd expect it all to be working perfectly.

 

I know I'm oversimplifying it, but it should be simpler to get a decent app working than Trackman because the raw data should be a simpler, defined set of measurements off fixed cameras rather than trying to interpret radar.

Perhaps some of the reason for the relatively poor app is that people can see the numbers directly on a Foresight LM whereas there is no on screen display on a TM or X3 so they require an app.

I submitted a support ticket with Foresight because my GC3 would not connect with FSX Mobile on my iPad and received the following reply: 

 

"At this time FSX Mobile does not support the GC3 but that could change in the future. There is no timeline for when this feature will be added."

 

Based on this it appears you have two options: Gaming PC or GC3 by itself.
