For you guys that have preordered the GC3, what's the software details?  You own the software for life?  When upgraded/new versions of the software come about for an upcharge, are you able to still use your current software or does it force you to upgrade to continue running as well?

Sales rep said FSX 2022 for sure 100% free and most likely any updates after that. He said if not then in the past they have offered discounted $500 upgrades depending on when you purchased relative to new release. I haven't preordered but I'm on the fence. Is FSX 2020 really that bad?

He did confirm no 3rd party software for GC3.

That is the interesting part, on the MGS article it says some of the ball data is only included with FSX or FSX pro, but it doesn't explicitly say you get the full software package. I am guessing you do not get the full PC software version for 7k given it's 3k on it's own

Agree...unless you are taking this to Pelican or Pebble where they use ProVs for their range balls, I don't understand why anyone would take this to a range?  Indoor is the best use to learn from these devices.   Do people take these to the course and play a round with them?

I have my own shag bag of my gamer balls. I'll take it to my range after they close it and pick balls.  I'll also take it on course when I'm practicing.

Deal. I’m in at $8 so when you’re wrong I can actually buy it and it not matter🤣🤣

I have witnesses now!

I just had a lengthy conversation with the foreside rep and he has told me if it integrates with a quad it will integrate with the GC3. He also told me all software updates after FSX play will be for a fee. So the breakeven is probably six or seven years now with the launch pro.

Are the software updates absolutely necessary? Can you just continue using the older version that you already have?

Wow while this is disappointing I’m glad I decided to take those 1000 to 1 odds!!🤣

in all seriousness if this is true I will be going Bushnell with silver. I have access to TM4 anytime I want so if I need to do club fitting or whatever I can go see numbers there. But as long as it’s reading but not showing I don’t care

I spoke to a rep and got the same info.  NO on TGC 2019, NO on GSPro, but YES on E6 for software integration.  He did say EA Sports is working on simulation software, but no idea on future timeline.

Software updates are included with the price, including FSX Play coming soon with an updated graphics engine.

All future software upgrades or just the first one?

I'm just going to get the GC3 and pay 7k, and be done with it.  It's way better than paying 14k or 18k for the quad.

I think the thing that pisses me off is the 2D range.  I mean, that's just pure evil.

First you lock a lot of readings (strike 1), then you offer zero courses (strike 2), but to go to a 2d range is just cruel.  Top it off by charging $100/year for nothing, is just a big F you to consumers.

C'mon, how is that evil? No one is putting a gun to your head and making you buy it.

Foresight is notorious for charging for EVERYTHING they can so are you truly surprised?

It's essentially giving you GC2+HMT data (minus face angle) with some basic simulator capability, for a few thousand bucks less.  I don't see what incentive they have to go much cheaper when they can't keep the much more expensive quad in stock

The incentive would be a mass number of people who would be willing to pay $3k or even a bit more for the hardware, but are not okay with the monthly subscriptions. You could still charge the $800/month sub for simulated play of courses and access to FSX, but I personally think a generic 3D driving range would be the least they could throw in when buying a $3k device. I'm not expecting FSX for free, just any sort of 3d range seems like a no briner to me. Even the $600 R10 has a free 3D range, and no im not comparing the quality of the 2 units, just pointing out that it cant be too hard to develop a 3d range when selling a much higher end device when a $600 device throws it in for free.

Your GD right nobody is making me buy it.

They can dangle the carrot on other suckers.

No one else in the market is offering (what appears to be) GC4-like performance at anywhere near this price point. Until that day comes, I think Bushnell/Foresight will be able to get away charging what they charge...

But that is the reason to get the subscription. This market will flood in the next couple years and that will drive down subscription prices (not up). So the idea of paying 7k up front would be like paying 25k for a flat screen (which people did). Bets on subscription being cheaper.
