Got a surprise this morning when tracking updated to out for delivery. Received and I love them! More forgiving and softer than my P7MBs. Surprised at the performance of the elevate X shaft. I’m coming from project x 6.5 and really like the feel. Only thing I’m keeping an eye on is the spin. Slightly lower spinning than my P7MBs even with the elevate.  Best surprise is the forgiveness of the 4 iron. Hit some nice draws peaking at 105 feet with 4200 spin. Pleasantly surprised with how good these irons are! For context, I had to switch to the P7MCs in the 4 and 5 due to lack of consistent strike.  Now just waiting on the driving iron with the Ventus blue!

Mine went into ‘assembly’ on Thursday, so they should ship out early this week. I’m loving my Sub70 TAiii irons and have no reason to change, but couldn’t pass up the price. Can’t wait to let these two irons lock horns.

I ordered August 11th. So it took a week to go into production.

Bottom pic has the iron in the middle pretty chattered up. Is This Gen 3T and you played the longest? Just seems odd that this one is so beaten up vs. the other two (well ST I guess is a new addition...).

The chatter is 2+ years of using the Gen3 T. I bought the Gen4 earlier a few months back and haven't played them much at all as of yet. ST showed up yesterday.

Spoke with my rep today and confirmed that gen4 st heads are still in production and aren't as of yet slated for discontinue. Heads should be restocked soon. If you see something out of stock online, call, when they get low on stock they pull it from the website so they don't get a flood of orders they can't immediately fulfill.

the STs showed up and they are thicker than I thought. I saw one post mention that before, a while back, they’re not thick by any means but for a solid body club they’re on the thicker end. Ie my T100 and MP69 are both thinner. 
 

im happy with the ST size but makes me wonder how the Ts look and if they play much different. I didn’t get along w the Gen 3 P size and turf interaction.

Is there a ball speed difference between the Gen4 T and ST's in the same loft?

Seeing someone say these are like my beloved S55s has piqued my interest. Thinking about ordering a set and am wondering how y’all feel about the lofts — did you go standard for your set? Just seems a little aggressive with the 5* gaps in short irons vs 3* to even 2* in longer irons. 

 

also — did anyone go with the stock elevate tour shafts? I’m currently playing px 6.5 and still launch quite high so wondering if this shaft in x would be a nonstarter for me.

I had the Ping S55 irons which are a cavity back design.  The PXG 0311ST is a blade design and not comparable.

Compare it with other blade irons.

As I mentioned back on page 5, the T is more relatable to the S55, my Gen3 T are almost identical to them from a size and spec perspective. I took photos and posted them somewhere on this site a long time ago if you feel liking digging for them. The ST definitely are blades and and play like it, sized very similar to the Gen3 T, but have thinner soles and top line. IMO, If you hit the S55 well, these will be serviceable. Buttery soft!!! I had my ST strengthened  1* to bring them inline with the T.

ohh my bad, misread. Well, regardless, I played tiny, v old school Mizuno “tour proven” blades for years and would love to have another set (of blades). These seem almost too good to pass up, so I’ll probably go this route.

Went standard loft and somehow gained distance in my long irons compared to my OG 0211. Short irons were on par despite the weaker lofts

I had mine set to 4 degree gaps from a 46* pw and will test them out on a gc3.

I would NOT use elevate tours to lower flight. It all depends how you swing, but I was fit into PX6.5 in Gen4T and hit the Elevate tour at least 1 club shorter.

I had similar results. I had a set of 0211 ST's with Elevate Tours and they went a club shorter than my 0211 ST's with KBS Tour X's. I actually hit the KBS Tour's higher but with less spin. Elevate Tour's spun excessively for me. It's weird because I'm someone who can usually get away with playing most types of shafts. 

 

Also, to add to this Gen 4 ST topic-I got my Gen 4 ST Xtreme Dark GW bent to 54 yesterday. It's absolutely stunning. I'm kicking myself for not buying the full set when it was available.

The Elevate Tours are my fitted shaft because I deloft a ton at impact and have a low descent angle and play a draw, if that helps anything. Usually play Titleist T100 with Elevate Tour and stick to players irons / blades for the added spin/stopping power. 
 

Ordered my 0311ST in Xtreme Dark 5-PW on last Saturday and tracking says it will be here Sunday. Can’t wait to hit them!

I might also steal @BirdieBob’s idea of painting the big screw black. I’m wondering if there is a conceivable way to spray the paint onto a palette of some sort and use a small brush to paint the smaller tungsten screws for a full blackout… 🤔 

 

Definitely can’t wait to test vs my 2021 T100s. Secretly hoping they make the bag.

One more question before I pull the trigger… anyone gaming that gap wedge? I pretty much exclusively use my 56* and 60* around the greens so thinking I could save a few $$ by including it, BUT I would likely have it bent strong by 2* to 50* and am not sure if that would make it have a bit too low of bounce for a 50*?
