Scratched Paint on stand bag legs

I have a titleist linksmaster golf bag and the black legs on them were somehow scratched. And it’s bothering me to look at. 
 

Has this happened to anyone and does anyone know the best way to paint them or make them looks like new?

I would have wrapped them in electrical tape before I used them like on my old Ping Hoofer.  New Pings don't have this issue.

 

I'd paint them with hobby paint them wrap them after they are dry.

This is what I do.  I looked at my old bag and just wrapped the new legs with electrical tape where they were scratched on the old bag.  Just make sure you use good tape.

I wanted to keep my bag nice.  Rest of the bag won't wear nearly as quickly so why have to look at shiny scratched up legs all the time?  Additionally, the tape keeps the bag from shifting around as much during riding.

I like the electrical tape idea, but the legs getting scratches never crossed my mind as something that would bother me, it’s normal wear and tear.

No other reason other than it looks like crap when black legs are scratched to hell.  I use my bag to walk and in a pushcart.

has anyone tried shrink tubing? Might look nicer than wrapped electrical tape?

Mine was scratched at the top of the legs above the attached stand mechanism so I would have had to split the heat shrink and not sure how that would have worked.  It’s not perfect but the silver showing through the black was pretty noticeable and I just wanted to cover it up.  I’ve also been known to change bags every couple years and so I’ll sell the old one and it helps keep it in better shape.

I tried at one point a few years ago wrapping my (at the time) Ping Hoofer legs with Gorilla Tape.  Super strong grip, sticks like hell, and it's thicker and more durable than electrical or Duct tape.  Over time it too will wear, but you can replace the tape at that time.

Electrical heat shrink should work pretty well.

Just be aware that tape will wear and leave adhesive residue that can get nasty

After reading this thread I realized I don't believe I've ever had the slightest inkling to look at the legs of my bag.  I do hope everyone here gets the help he/she needs, with the bag legs and any other potential issues that may spring up.

The legs on my stand bag are scratched but it just doesn't bother me.  I imagine that for folks whose stand legs are completely exposed from top to bottom that they could use almost any of the options that are used to modify shafts (like the various "blackout" techniques).  It would be a  little trickier for folks where the stand mechanism bisects the legs at some point unless there is a way to remove and then reinstall the legs.  In any case, any change would likely eventually wear again at some point.  I'd probably advise choosing an approach that would not be messy when it starts to wear through again and would be relatively simple to remove (like heat shrink) or redo (like paint).

Not sure what year they started?  Maybe 19 or 20.  The top of the leg mechanism now where they are connected to the bag now is plastic for several inches.  No painted part of the legs touch the cart.  I can maybe snap a pic later when I'm home.

As long as the legs keep my bag standing, I don't care what they look like. Also, the way the cost of new bags is going, my bag is going to look pretty lousy before it gets replaced.
