Just ordered Gen 4 irons today and couldn't be happier.  Long process of testing many manufacturers but the numbers didn't lie.   I seriously don't get the PXG bashers out there.  The clubs are amazing.  Looking forward to kicking off the new season soon here.

I snipped these from a social media story.  I hadn’t heard of “black label elite” but the bait is clicking up.  Gen5 in the hybrid. These gen5 on hosel.

Could just be the color but the soles on those look thinner than my Gen4. That has been my only complaint about them. Wished the soles of the Ps were the same thickness of the Ts.

Good to see they have the same design as the Gen4 with the large SW screw...not sure these are milled backs however but hosel seems to say 5T Forged Milled.

I definitely would have to get my spray paint can out and work them over....lol.

Yeh at first glance I agree with you on the spray paint. Not sure about the new look at all, would definitely have to see them in person though.

 

I've been thinking for a while now that when the Gen 5 irons come out and the Gen 4 prices drop. I will order me another set of the Gen 4 irons in the dark finish. Love the look of black irons and from what I have read these seem to hold up pretty well. As long as you don't use them on sandy ranges. Will take your advice BB and keep a 6 and 9 iron of the standard finish to use on the range.

I actually thought the design change would be similar to what happened with the woods.  Two of the large weight screws, one in the toe and the other in the heel for much improved perimeter weighting.  And no more small screws.  Maybe Gen6

They're a different design with tungsten weights on back edges like the Battle Ready putters and labeled Gen5. They must be coming sooner than later if they let her post the pics.

Yep, it does look as if they are fading out the small screws.

I know a lot of people hate that PXG is adopting a yearly product release but I really like it.  So pumped about the Gen 5 driver line.

Im guessing those Gen 5 shown are tungsten plugs on the heel and toe? Looks like 3 screws on toe instead of 2 this time around. 

 

Not sure how they can really improve on the Gen 4 other than adding in a little more spin

Yes, maybe the plates in the heel/toe that hold the screws are heavier like tungsten for improved perimeter weighting?

I think they have been dropping the woods/hybrids in March so irons coming in April could be the right answer here. PXG stepping on the gas while the other manufacturers are still running behind on filling orders. I’m seeing a ton of PXGs popping into bags around my club over the last 2 years. The price drops have been working for sure.

Exactly!  PXG is able to get product out versus waiting months and months from the other oems.

What I've learned: Black label elite is the new spin off PXG is doing to create a higher price point. There will be other black label elite clubs, a regular chrome version at a lower price point, and the continuation of the previous generations of irons at an even lower price. PXG is moving to a pricing structure that is tiered. 

 

My understanding (right now) is that black label elite will be what the darkness line is currently. Same generation, black finish, higher price and less discounts. There will most likely be black label elite bags, putters, etc... at a higher price. It's a rebranding of darkness, with less discounting.

Low spin on Gen4 T has me hesitating a bit. My Gen3 T has almost 250 rounds on them and would like to retire. I bet we hear something on 0311 about the next Generation.
