I agree. He is the real deal! Elite ball striker, amazing teacher, and just a genuinely good dude. He can explain a concept in many, many different ways to help the player find something that clicks with their mind to help them understand it. We are truly fortunate to have him around here! He also is super generous with his time and knowledge.

Without a doubt, a better person then he is a player, and like you said, he's a pretty damn good player.  My enjoyment and while some may say questionable improvements in the past years in this game are highly attributable directly to Monte.

 

He has a gift. And we are very fortunate he's willing to share with the rest of us.

Currently am working with him after I bought a 5 pack of online lessons. Just signed up for the improvement plan as well and have owned most of his videos for years. 
 

Love how he tries to make it simple and fix one thing at a time. I’ve had instructors that get 5 different thoughts and feels in your head at the same time and it just throws you for a loop. With Monte it’s just a “go work on this” and that’s it. Nothing confusing and nothing too complex just one change and every time after working on it it has changed the swing for the better.

I found him on you tube about 7 yrs. ago. Simplicity and a gifted eye. My son took me to Pebble Beach 2 yrs. ago for my 70th Bday. Night before playing Spy Glass drinking my manhattan I hear a gruff voice behind me that anybody would recognize if you followed him, well my son flew him in for my bday. Next day was great. I just sat behind him and watched his warmup. In the 9th fairway I'm 3 over and should be 8-9 over he says, DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR SWING OR NOT? That day timing was good but had a huge hip sway and aiming left. I said YES but boy did he throw me a curve. Still a work in progress but better. What really impressed me was early on I had a question and emailed him. He didn't know me from Adam and responded immediately. Send David Leadbetter a question, who he really doesn't care for and see what happens. Well respected among his peers and students. Thanks again Monte.

I had a one hour lesson and then a playing lesson with Monte yesterday. It was my second in-person lesson with him over the past 2 years, plus the online/remote lessons in between.

 

When Monte hits the ball, it just sounds different. Its the sound of elite ballstriking.

 

And 5 minutes into my lesson, I was a different golfer. After 15 shots of the new movement, my biggest miss with a 9 iron was 11 feet offline (yes, feet, not yards). There was a series of shots in a row that were less than 2 feet offline. Its going  to take time to implement the new movement and execute it well, but i definitely saw a night and day difference when i was executing the movement decently.

I sincerely think Monte can help just about every single golfer out there, get better.

He came by it honestly, putting in the time, intellectually curious, not afraid to see where new ideas lead and is engaged with others in the teaching community. Didn’t learn from “x” how to teach like “x”. Oh, and a treat to be around!

@Soloman1just curious....are you being paid some sort of referral fee from Monte from any traffic you send his way? Not saying anything about his teaching or anything other than this question at all, it just seems peculiar without any incentive for you. Thanks.

Monte has never paid me for anything. He doesn't even like me. I'll delete it and lock the thread if that will make you happy.
